Ideal location friendly helpful staff clean hotel

Excellent location, helpful staff.

Wonderful location, only a few minutes' walk from the Acropolis and other sites of interest. On a street lined with restaurants which were similar to each other, but which afforded a reasonable choice. My room very well-sized, with two large single beds, dressing table and chair, and easy chair. Appreciated the free safe and fridge. Really liked having a bath, as I needed that after running the marathon. Breakfast surprised me, as I was expecting basic continental, but there was always a range of cooked foods, as well as speciality Greek breakfast ingredients. Served from 7 am until 11 am there was plenty of time for a relaxed meal, and they provided a 5 am breakfast on the day of the Athens marathon for runners and family.

My room was disappointing in terms of the outlook - called 'courtyard' but actually looking on to the opposite building festooned with air conditioning units. I was given the opportunity (at a cost) of an upgrade to a room with an Acropolis view. Cannot understand why, given the climate, the duvets were so thick - I tended to throw it off and sleep under the sheet alone. The balcony doors of the rooftop restaurant/bar appeared to be broken, so it was impossible to go out to get the much heralded view of the Acropolis.

The location was great. The rooftop view and food are excellent. The breakfast is fantastic.

Wonderful staff

Excellent breakfast. Loved the balcony. Near awesome restaurants and Platko. The bar and restaurant upstairs had good cocktails and food. I will be traveling in and out of Athens over the next year. I plan to stay at the Hera each time. Great neighborhood- always safe. Near museum. Perfect neighborhood to just walk around. Well treated by staff who always spoke to us. Our cleaning lady thanked us profusely for her tip before we left. Very good people.

I was there 8 days. I'd love to stay 8 more.

Shower isn’t that great and tub is difficult to step up into.

Location is perfect. Staff go to so much effort for you. Breakfast is wonderful but my favourite is the roof top restaurant.

We loved everything about the Hera Hotel from the breakfast the room and the service from the staff. All so friendly and happy to answer any questions.

The rooms were not sound proof we could hear peoe outside and the people in the next room.

Restaurant was under renovation and missed out on our first night dining with Acropolis view. We made due and found somewhere else to eat. We understood that this was early in the season, and you have to renovate sometime.

Friendly and helpful staff, pleasant hotel

This was my second stay at the Hera. The location is superb—around the corner from the Parthenon museum and the Acropolis and within walking distance of Plaka!!! The rooms are small but adequate since you're in Athens and there is so much to see outside!! I was disappointed that the rooftop restaurant was under renovation, but it is due to reopen in April. Their view is spectacular!! Breakfast in the lobby restaurant was very comprehensive and delicious. The staff was very congenial and helpful in making suggestions and in fixing a computer glitch.

No complaints other than the disappointment about the rooftop restaurant.

We loved the staff at this hotel. They are really friendly and helpful. The hotel is beautiful and smelled wonderful. We had breakfast twice and it was expansive with multiple choices and the quality was excellent. The rooms were very nice and beds super comfortable. It’s very close to the Acropolis and Acropolis museum. Lots of places in the neighborhood to shop and eat. It’s very close to the Plaka shopping as well.

The rooftop dining was under some construction so we didn’t eat dinner with a view of the Acropolis.

The room was lovely. Very comfortable bed, excellent power shower, very quiet during the night.

I would have liked the heating to keep the room a bit warmer. I set it to max settinfmg but didn't feel that warm. Still comfortable though.

Clean, perfect location. Polite, attentive professional and always available staff. Exceptional breakfast with Greek delicacies (cheese and spinach pie etc)

Location was the best - right below Acropolis and close to Plaka. Walkable to Syntagma. Quite clean. Was described as 20m2 - it was small but it felt bigger than 20m2

A little warm in the room, had to open the balcony door a little at night. No toothbrushes

In a noisy area - heard people in the street at 2;00am. Also room was very small We had a triple and could barely move.

Nice room, clean and comfortable. Had everything needed. Walkable to main locations and safe area.

Asked for an adaptor and they charged us 15 euro to buy one which usually most hotels provide these free (to borrow)

It was good to be so centrally placed for the archeological sites. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The staff were courteous and pleasant at all times. The choice for breakfast was very good and we also enjoyed two excellent meals in the rooftop restaurant with the wonderful view of the Acropolis. We also enjoyed sitting on the balcony which overlooked the street in the evening sun.

The only downside for us was the noise in the street fairly late at night. It meant we had to sleep with the window closed when we would have liked some air! Of course we recognise this was not under the control of the hotel!

The breakfast was served in a beautiful hall. The terrace had a lovely view to the Parthenon. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The location of this hotel is just fantastic, right in the heart of Plaka

The small room is indeed small. Most of the front office personnel show no actual intention to help you and have an attitude.

Location was great. Restaurant on the rooftop a fantastic place to eat and enjoy the view.

Noise late at night. Night I arrived, there was a nightclub or such like outside the hotel which went on until 2.30pm in the morning.

The rooms were perfect. The front desk staff and the roof top terrace staff were exceptional. We ate at the restaurant, and they accomodated my mobility challenged parents beautifully. Highly recommend.

Our AC was not great, but it was 40 plus degrees celsius, so there is some reasonable explanation as to why it was struggling.
