Pool & Room

Too big, the exact contrary of a "boutique hotel". Too many tours -travellers resulting in often very very noisy environments. Therefore not propitious towards a peaceful stay and unfortunately a chaotic breakfasts public rooms environment with maybe too few hotel personnel to handle the customers during peak hours breakfast times.

Beautiful hotel. Room was comfortable and clean. View of the garden was pleasant. Customer service was excellent. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Shout out to Mohd. Elbane who made our dining experience memorable.

The only improvement required is the shower, pressure was low and the water temperature was inconsistent, it changes between very hot to cold during shower.

The hotel was on the average of luxurious ones. A bit old but overall well maintained. Bed was comfy, and hot water no issue.
The view of pool from the room was relaxing enough. Wanted to take the spa but it was occupied... it's our fault though.

It's located outside of the old city so we expected some calm area, but it was close to constructed area and couldn't go walking outside.

As it is in a resort it is a bit removed from the real Fez if that makes sense. It depends on what you are looking for.

I am an experienced traveler, and I was in the Marriott for New Year’s Eve. Too many little situations arose during my stay to be just coincidences. The staff was great and very friendly although I believe that the management does not give them the correct and sufficient training, and does not reach the level of standard that you would expect of a Marriott hotel.
The room was booked as a king size bedroom, and a double bedroom was given to us. Then they joined the beds to make a king size bed, although it is not the same.
Breakfast was OK but poor, considering the standard and price level of the hotel.
Amenities and cleaning of the room was missing always something (missing towels missing complimentary water, missing slippers). All this was promptly provided but only after we ask for it several times.
Dinner for New Year’s Eve at the Moroccan restaurant was poor quality compared to the standard of Marriott and we were provided the worst available table although other tables that supposedly were booked remained free during the whole night.
We were asked to provide receipt of payment of the dinner before sitting down while dinner was paid in full at the reception and this information should’ve been available to the restaurant management.
At breakfast, we were asked to pay the breakfast, although it was included in our booking but this was solved after a little while. These are only some of the mistakes and failures that we encountered in 48 hours of our stay in the hotel.
We strongly believe that all these errors and mistakes were originated by a poor middle management of all the areas of the hotel, expecially restaurant and cleaning, which should be addressed by the main management of Marriott if they want to maintain the standard of the chain. On the other hand, the location of the hotel is beautiful, but misses maintenance. I must point out that all of the personnel that was working doing our stay has always been very nice, friendly and helpful.

Once you leave the lobby, the hallways are so worn out and neglected. Our room was decorated in such a chaotic way that it wasn’t easy to relax. The sofa was completely broken and there was no way to keep a dim light in the bathroom at night without a bright light on in the hallway. The light in the toilet area wasn’t working at all. Two of us got sick after eating in the French restaurant where our service was terrible. They tried very hard but couldn’t understand us when we spoke English or French. After we received our appetizers they notified us they had run out of two of our entrees. We ordered onion soup that had been sitting under a heater so long that it no longer had broth and was a condensed plate of salty onions.
Breakfast was a disaster. No plates available and then we were given dirty ones. Egg chef could not handle a simple order and staff could not understand that we wanted coffee WITH caffeine.
In general, the problem was a serious lack of communication skills. Everyone was incredibly kind but our stay was chaotic and frustrating.

The gym was fantastic. Plenty of machines with tons of natural light. Some of the machines were dated but it compensated for newer machines.

The building is really dated. Hallway carpets and walls, elevators and dinning experience was below standards. The furniture and carpet in the room is equally old and severely used. The concierge during the evening was far from helpful. The food was overpriced and of low quality.

During my stay at the hotel, I had a great experience with the staff. They were friendly, helpful, and quick to respond to any requests we made. One notable instance was when we had planned to dine in the hotel’s restaurant, but due to one of our family members not feeling well, we requested to have dinner served in our suite instead. The staff handled this request promptly and with professionalism, which we really appreciated.

While the staff’s service was truly five-star, I feel that the overall hotel experience didn’t fully meet the same standard. Nonetheless, the kindness and efficiency of the team made a significant positive impact on our stay, and I commend them for their excellent customer service.

I recently stayed at your hotel and booked a suite because I was looking for a spacious and comfortable experience. However, the layout of the suite was disappointing. The suite was essentially two levels, with the bedroom downstairs and the living area upstairs near the main entrance. This setup didn’t provide the comfort and convenience I was expecting, and the constant need to go up and down the stairs was inconvenient and frustrating.

Additionally, the maintenance and cleanliness of the wooden furniture in the room were below expectations. I noticed visible fingerprints on the wood, and even after trying to clean them with a damp tissue, they wouldn’t come off, indicating they had been there for quite some time. The side tables also had noticeable scratches, which is not what I expect from a five-star hotel.

The air conditioning was also not functioning properly. The room temperature was far from comfortable, and it didn’t provide the cool and refreshing environment I anticipated during my stay, making it difficult to relax.

Lastly, the breakfast was underwhelming. The selection was very limited, with little variety, and it didn’t meet our expectations in terms of quality or diversity.

Overall, my experience did not align with the standards of a five-star hotel, and I hope these issues can be addressed for future guests.

The gym is the most special thing about this hotel. It can be used instead of real gym if you are a professional weight lifter.

The hotel is very run down. It needs renovation. The bathroom has some broken or damaged equipment.

Hotel was stunning and felt incredibly luxurious. lots of facilities - 3 restaurants and a lounge that just opened. There was also a stunning coffee shop. We are at EAT and was tasty food and great atmosphere- Lachen looked after us so well

I like the staff; they are very welcoming, always smiling, and helpful.

Some of the facilities close early, like the tea house spa, which starts in the afternoon and closes at 9 PM. When guests go out, it is open, but when they come back, it is closed.

Luxury and location

There was maintenance work happening in the lobby. They should have prewarned us to expect it. But the rooms were far away and it did not disturb us.

The property is gorgeous and the restaurants are very good

It is a bit far away from everything (but that can’t be helped), and while the staff were extremely courteous, I think it didn’t really live up to five-star standards (confusions about bills, unanswered questions, things like that)

Our room was quiet and comfortable. The 2 levels would not suit older travellers as stairs steep

Everything was ok

Beautiful property, ask for a room overlooking the pool. Lovely products in bathroom. Not central to the Medina and the cab fares from the hotel were not cheap.

Very comfortable beds, including one sofa bed, in a large suite. Great for families with kids. Huge breakfast buffet at a reasonable cost and free for kids. Good location walkable to some stores and restaurants and short drive from everything else in Fes. Tremendously helpful staff. Grounds are beautiful and relaxing. Easy parking.

Nothing to share. We enjoyed our stay!
