The Shelborne by Proper in Miami Beach is such a cool rebirth of a real Art Deco icon. Originally opened in 1940 and blending classic Deco with mid-century MiMo style, the hotel went through a major $100 million renovation and now feels sleek, warm, and totally refreshed.

The design studio ADC Atelier did a terrific job melding historic touches, like the iconic 1950s diving board and the 18th Street façade, with modern, tropical finishes: think honed marble, travertine, wood accents, and a color palette of moss green, terracotta, and powder blue.

But it’s not just about looks. This hotel really lives and breathes Miami. With 251 rooms, suites, and villas (many with killer ocean or pool views), there are great spaces for relaxing or entertaining.
