The building and the location are very nice

The management is very poor and the place has a very poor maintenance. It used to be very nice time ago but now is far from what you pay for. A pity because it could be a fantastic place if managed properly

Liked the staff and river view.

No boat, there was a very loud office party during stay, very quiet.

Great location to walk down the road 15 mins to spa's, a large array of fantastic restaurants, ATM'S, Supermarkets. Cat Cafe too!
The Laundry Service was excellent.

The Hotel is very well photographed - It is VERY tired and in need of investment. We almost left and went somewhere else.

The reception desk looks like an office and could do with smartening up.

Most of the upholstered chairs and sofas in our rooms were stained and furniture was chipped and bashed - and burnt from straightening tongs. Our bedding was ripped, clean and unstained, but old.

ALL the fabric sunbeds by the pool were very dirty and stained, some sagged as were broken. The parasols were very dirty. The chairs and tables by the pool are rusty and old and the buckets and hose etc need tidying away by the pool. The pool shower barely worked. Pool towels stained with bleach etc.

We had a chest of drawers outside our room where everyone's used room service trays were left on.

It's not the hotels fault but there is presently in Jan 2025 a construction site next door which is noisy everyday very early from 7ish (they don't stop on the weekend). We weren't informed of that when booking.

They hosted 2 Weddings, 2 of the nights of our 4 night stay which are disruptive and the level of service for Hotel guests drops. We were told about those on the day!

This hotel has a huge amount of unrealised potential. I would love to smarten it up, it wouldn't take much!

Excellent restaurant - great menu, v good chef. Lovely friendly helpful people. Great riverside ambiance. Characterful property with a feeling of ‘old Saigon’ about it.

It is a bit too far out of the way of the main tourist centre in Saigon. There is no passenger lift and so it is completely unsuitable for travellers with mobility issues or lots of heavy cases!

We had a tranquil and enjoyable stay, a short boat trip away from the centre. Staff was very friendly and the restaurant delicious.Very enjoyable experience, I would repeat.

The location on the river, the beautiful calm and spacious room and the wonderful swimming pool.

We chose to stay out of town at Villa Song on the river because of the expected ease of travel into the centre by the hotel speed boat which is offered as a facility when booking. We were disappointed to find it was not working doing our stay. Otherwise we liked the hotel a lot.

Location was great especially away from the hustle and bustle of HCMC downtown. Very friendly helpful staff. Nice salt water swimming pool exceptionally clean - great for doing lengths. Lovely having breakfast alongside the river. Food well presented and tasty.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating and made our stay very special. The building is beautiful and the rooms very comfortable. The transfer to downtown by boat was the best.

Beautiful hotel with wonderful facilities and staff were very attentive. The food was exceptional. Everything we ate was delicious and not bother if you wanted room service.
Staff were helpful and friendly and happy to organise anything for you.
The boat was a major plus to get into the city with ease and for a lovely addition to the day!

Beds were not as comfortable as expected for a high quality hotel. Also the mosquitos were always in the bedroom and we got bitten a lot. This has not happened in any other hotels on our Vietnam tour. Otherwise everything was perfect.

The photos of Villa Song do not do it any justice. It is a beautifully unique hotel with lovely grounds, spacious and well furnished rooms....and the pool area was a perfect place to rest from the heat.
It was lovely sitting near the river for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were so helpful and always had a smile on their faces. (Vicky was so sweet and always happy to help with anything we requested)
The shuttle boat to the city was a fabulous service....an added bonus to a wonderful hotel. We would definitely return to Villa Song.

The pool here is gorgeous. And huge. The food was delicious. The range of iced teas, juices etc was great. The staff are all so lovely, helpful and so friendly. Couldn't have been nicer.

Dairy alternatives (eg oat milk) would have been really appreciated but didn't spoil our stay

Loved the heritage aspect, on the river away from the centre. Superb staff, particularly at the front desk. Lovely big, secluded pool and nice restaurant with tables on the river.

The main reason for choosing the hotel was the promise of a complimentary boat down the river to the centre ( lovely way to travel rather than the crazy traffic) unfortunately the boat captain had disappeared and the one trip he took me, which was delightful, he failed to pick me up again at the designated time! This seems to be an essential element that needs to be sorted.

A pretty special find, staff extraordinarily good, food,serenity, landscaping, old style colonial hotel , I really did not think such places existed anymore, and amazing value, but there it is!

I really can't fault anything - umm no USB-C charging points?

The internet was terrible which made it hard for me to do work and communicate with my family.

It’s a little dated and needs refreshing. Hotel common areas such as pool need some updating. Boat service should run into the evening. The common areas and restaurants are used for parties

Great calm location. Lovely colonial style hotel. Big rooms. Comfortable beds. Good bathrooms. Very helpful Manager. Great speed boat service into town.

In room facing river could hear music at times from the bar. For most people probably not a problem but if you want a totally quiet room ask for one at the back. Management changed ours without problem. Even upgraded us.

The location was excellent. Far enough away from the city but easily accessible by taxi.

The swimming pool is big, nice and clean.
The manager was very pleasant, professional and helpful to find nice rooms for us.

1/ No buffet for breakfast. You need to order everything from the menu. When breakfast is included, they charge you extra if you order more than 1 drink (juice OR hot drink) and 1 plate (eggs or toasts or pancakes….). The service is very slow. We had to leave for the airport before our full breakfast order arrived. We had arrived at breakfast 45 minutes before leaving time. The restaurant was not even half full (1 big group and 2 tables) and the kitchen staff was overwelcomed and could not keep up the orders. We left very disappointed.

2/ the person at reception speaks very poor English. She does not understand what we ask her. I asked at 9am for my luggages to be brought down at reception. At 9.35am, our taxi was waiting outside and still no luggage at reception. My husband and I had to bring down ourselves all our luggages (from our room on the 2nd floor + from the room of our teenagers’ on the 3rd floor). There is no lift in this hotel and no air conditioning outside the bedrooms, so a lot of effort for us.

3/ We had booked 2 rooms with balcony via Booking.com. When we arrived and they tried to give us rooms without balcony. The 2 ladies at reception were not pleasant, not a smile, which is very unusual in Vietnam. Luckily, the manager arrived and was very helpful. He found us 1 beautiful room with a big balcony and another big room without balcony but still very nice. He upgraded us. Rooms were beautiful. The managed did his best to find a solution. We appreciated that.

The manager was very professional and helpful but was not working the day we left unfortunately (to solve our breakfast and luggage problem).

Overall, I do not recommend this hotel, the service is not worth 4 stars.
