In the mid-20th century, Eleuthera enjoyed a period of popularity as a destination, and even though there were logical reasons for its downturn, the inherent charm of the location remains unaltered.
Thus, it’s gratifying to observe its resurgence — who could resist a Bahamian island that stretches over a hundred miles yet is only two miles wide, a subtle curve of paradise in the northern Caribbean? Especially now, with establishments like The Cove making significant strides to entice a fresh wave of explorers.
This new wave is a generation accustomed to the sleek, monochrome minimalism of boutique hotels, a generation that perceives floral-print bedding as an interior design faux pas equivalent to a warning message etched across a mirror.
It’s perhaps no surprise that The Cove has done away with its floral patterns and possibly a substantial amount of rattan during a major revamp. The result is an ultra-modern aesthetic — pristine white walls, contemporary furnishings, rain showers, oversized flat-screen TVs and more.
