The Heathman Hotel, Portland

The hotel was right next door to the Schnitzer Hall where I was going for work. It had the ambiance that I LOVE with a real burning fireplace and library with plenty of lounge and seating space. It also was very quiet so you could read, do work, etc even though there is a restaurant right next to it. The room was clean with modern amenities and quiet.

Although the staff was generally good but they promise decaf coffee available upon request. I requested but did not receive.

Kelsey who was at the front desk was absolutely amazing. She was so hospitable, so kind and really made our entire experience perfect!!! We will come back every single time we stay in Portland!

The location is terrific, right in the center of town. We parked in the recommended garage just around the corner for a decent price. Loved the Library Bar and their happy hour! Our suite was roomy and had two bathrooms, which was very nice. They also generously let us have a late checkout, so we could explore the town, have lunch and be back by 1 PM.

The mattress on the foldout couch was pretty awful - I could feel the coils under my body. Not a surprise, but perhaps they can offer a foam topper or something to use as a pad. We didn't ask about that possibility, to be fair.

Housekeeping could use some attention. Dirty glasses left in the room, no replacements, except that the bed was made we weren’t sure anyone had come in.

The hotel is beautiful and nicely updated. The room is well designed and very pretty and the public spaces are well maintained and comfortable

The breakfast was absolutely delicious! My friend had the quiche and I had the smoked salmon/veggie bowl. The orange juice was so good my friend had two glasses.

Not dislikes, suggestions. - the bathroom needs a small bench - a hook or two perhaps in the bedroom to hang a long dress so it isn’t pooling on the floor. This is the first hotel I’ve stayed in that has been designed to be so incredibly inclusive yet took nothing away from the design of the hotel/room.

The location is great. The valets are terrific.

They charge for everything. The “amenities” charge covers what other fine hotels I’ve stayed in offer for free.

Friendly staff-they were very accommodating and helpful. The coffee and tea offer was great as well as the tavern and restaurant . Location is central to many things.

The size of the bathrooms is a joke.. The shower and toilet are so close together you may as well just have one unit.

Hotel reception extremely helpful, library (common space) is cozy and gorgeous.

Great downtown location. We are long time visitors at this old classic Portland hotel. But this was our first visit since the change of ownership. The rooms have been nicely updated. We went during an epic snow and ice storm as we had been without power at home for 4 days. There were many challenges for the staff posed by the storm and they did a great job holding things together and providing excellent hospitality.

Good location for walking around downtown, shops, restaurants & river walk. Super helpful door guy who adjusted bikes, advised on best cabs for value for money

We are Portland residents. We went to the symphony and just walked over to the Heathman afterwards. We enjoyed the culture, the ambiance, the restaurant and, we love Portland.

The direction about your valet- it’s outside of the bike lane and it was full upon arrival so it just seemed like regular parking on the street.
