Atheneum Suite Hotel, Detroit

The location was great. The room was really cool with a great setup. The hotel is really clean chic and modern. The staff was really nice and helpful. Bonus all of this came at a really affordable price!

The hide-a-bed was replaced with just a couch which was not comfortable for sleeping purposes

The location is perfect for anything you want to do in Detroit!

Our room was a bit dated (stairs creaked) needs more staff in restaurant/bar.

The rooms are huge!!! Loved that you could close the door from the LR area from the bath/bedroom area. Room service was perfect and on time. The food was good.

We didn’t have an issue with this but I could see how it might be for some: there are 3 steps from the beds to the bathroom. They do have one night light lighting them up at night though. Not sure all the suites are set up this way. The tub in the bathroom is huge, which makes it somewhat difficult to get in and out of.

Really big, nice room and bathroom. Nice bar and lobby. Good location for walking to restaurants. Great value too. Parking across the street was easy and ended up costing us $16.

Very minor complaint but the elevator makes a loud ding every time it comes to the floor and our room was close to it. Maybe that can be muted for future guests.

The only thing I didn’t like was the size of the tv in the bedroom. Seems like they should be bigger.

The location was perfect! The staff was Amazing! The shuttle drivers were very friendly and accommodating. Capt. Toni, Darnell and Tino extended great customer service.

Breakfast was awesome and on time. Dinner was great. The bar area had friendly staff. The staffing at the door and behind the counter at check in as friendly and nice. I would go back the next time Iam in Detroit.

My son had what looked like a coffee stain on his comforter. But it was on the under side so you could t see it. But the beds were soft and comfy.

Clean, comfortable property and location’s proximity to parking garage were great.

Location was amazing. Valet parking was a breeze. The size of the room was nice but under utilized & the bathroom was dated with a very dangerous shower/entrance.

The shower was so high & then deep to step into it was totally unsafe & if I were older there’s no way I could get in & out of it. It sucked if you went to the bathroom at night because if you turn the light on it shines through the glass blocks & wakes up the person in the bed. I wish there was a microwave to reheat our food. The price did not match the accommodations. It was a little high for the dated room. There were absolutely no USB’s to plug modern technology into & the plugs around the room were in such a Odd places you couldn’t reach your phone while it was charging unless you had a 10 foot cord. No plugs on the lamps etc. The heater was quite loud every time it kicked on & would wake us up. We came home quite tired.

I prefer a proper shower to a shower in a bath. The room was really dark without lighting. Very little natural light.

The bathroom wall into the bedroom is made of frosted glass meaning the bathroom lights light up the room which when trying to sleep isn’t helpful.

The Hotel was clean warm and inviting.

The tiny space for arrival was not expected. However, the greeting from Valet more than made up for my initial surprise.

Valet parking -but its expected

I hosted 9 of my sisters, sister-in-laws and nieces. Everything was wonderful, but the friendly and helpful staff exceeded my expectations!

Great location to move around downtown. Staff was very courteous from the front door to the counter and the valet. All were exceptional. Loved the upscale hotel decor and the price point was very reasonable. I would highly recommend and stay there again,

Older hotel, so you can hear guests in adjacent rooms. Not a big deal for me but some people may have an issue with it. I still had a great stay.

Rooms and decor are dated. Our bathroom floor was in bad shape. The silk plants need to be replaced.

The size of the room was great. Having a sofa section made it feel like a 2 room suite. The bed was very comfortable and the air condition quiet.

We could hear the noise from the hallway. The door did not seal well. The water bottles in the fridge were not identified as costing $5 each. Many hotel provide complimentary water in the room or put sign out saying how much they cost. It would have been nice to have a small microwave in the room.

We loved the location! It was a short walk to Comerica Park, which was the object of our trip! We also took a sunset cruise on the Princess and our shuttle driver was prompt, courteous and enjoyable.

We stayed 2 nights and didn’t ask for maid servi
