Staff is great, hotel location and decor

No working elevator and poor AC function in the room

The location was great and the staff was always there. We felt safe at the hotel and enjoyed our stay.

The rooms are not that soundproofed so you can hear very well your neighbours and people out in the hall.

Nice facilities, good location

Variable staff friendliness. Some good/bad. Poor lighting in room. Some traffic noise. Housekeeping could be better.

Better than expected frankly!!

Pool was smaller than expected, but fine.

It was so close to the beach. We had 2 free hours of bike rentals and 2 free drink coupons from the hotel bar. Those were impressive and welcome touches!

There were no plastic or paper cups in the room; only 2 coffee cups. No bar soap or paper to write on, like other hotels.

Looks exactly like the photos, loved the bathroom and shower, perfect location to the beach and restaurants!! Happy hour was also fantastic when getting ready for dinner

There was no overhead light in our room and the room faced the street so we kept the blinds closed. But honestly did not matter too much

Fantastic location. Free use of bikes for 2 hours, which allowed us to explore more of Miami Beach.

The room wasn't as big as we were expecting but it was fine for one night. The bathroom was very small but nicely decorated. Hallway carpets showed signs of age. Overall, it isn't worth 500 USD for one night.

The staff are hot and cold - some days they are really helpful and other days they have a tone that implies are an inconvenience. The WiFi was terrible - constantly dropping in and out from our room. The pillows aren’t the best. The corridors of the hotel could use some updating.

The Balfour is an Art Deco Historic Hotel located toward the south end of Miami Beach. It has a beautiful interior courtyard with Palm trees and Orchids. The staff was super friendly and helpful..Its also pretty quiet even during spring break. We received complimentary Mojitos upon arrival. The hotel has an elevated second floor pool that is part glass.. You can sit at the outdoor seating in front and watch the world go by. I really like this Hotel

That was out second stay in The Balfour Hotel and we would love to come back …again! 🙂

Great location. One block from the beach.

Hardwood floors make it hard to sleep if someone above you is up all night. This happened to me on my first stay.

Location is the best part of this hotel, blocks away from the beach and boardwalk. Lots of restaurants, shops, bars ect in the area too!

We felt that the room rates were a bit overpriced, I think its just an expensive area to stay in. There was no breakfast included, and the pool was small. For $400 + per night a few extra amenities would go along way.

Great location on South Beach in a classic historic building. Room was a mix of modern and art deco style construction. Offered a welcome cocktail upon arrival. 24hr reception and nice lobby and garden patio and front patio to sit in and relax. Minutes walking from the beach. Close to many bars and restaurants.

Price for what I felt I got was ok. But the over amenities is fine. I absolutely hate the concept of resort fees. Anywhere. Everywhere. They’re ridiculous. Didn’t get to utilize any of the amenities the fee supposedly covers.

Super cute boutique style hotel. Was pretty impressed with the rooms considering the cheap price. A little bit out of the main area of South Beach but still has a few cafes/restaurants close-by. The beach with free bed/umbrella hire was a huge perk. Overall enjoyed our stay and was perfect for a girls weekend.

Be mindful that the bathrooms are teeny tiny and there is quite a bit of sound pollution from people walking down the corridors and above you. Didn't bother us but something to keep in mind if you're sensitive to noise.

The young, enthusiastic staff led by Bruno are this hotel's major plus point. Great housekeeping and lots of fluffy white towels. The location in South Beach is excellent.

Wi-Fi impossible in my room, ok at reception. The hotel needs a major refurbishment to bring it up to standard. The hotel's photos in publicity do not reflect the current reality.

The location was absolutely perfect; close to the beach, close to a little food shop and many wonderful restaurants. The room was clean, which was wonderful, and the bed was very comfortable. Most staff were also very kind and helpful.

The windows in the room were small and could not be opened, which created a stale air in the room. The pool was very small, although this was expected according to the description given by the hotel. The wifi in the room was extremely weak - not reliable at all. In the lobby, however, the connexion was much better. Although the staff at the bar were extremely kind, we found the quality of the food disappointing.

Close to the beach, cozy room. Walkable but just far enough away from the heavy nightlife.

It was super close to the beach and a lot of variety for food choices. They offered Beach Towels and umbrella included in the resort fee.

Our room was on the 4th floor in a corner so the wifi wasn't working for us. We weren't able to use the TV streaming because of that. The signal was just not good. We asked the staff about it but there wasn't anything they could do. Other than that it was a nice stay.

Location was excellent! Bed super comfy. Bathroom well appointed.

Its an older property and the carpets on the 3rd floor were so grossly stained and worn.Skimpy threadbare beach towels.Welcome cocktail that was indicated on the check in sheet turned out to be Champagne which none in our group like.

Very Nice Place, I believe they are doing some work on it, but it was clean and not noisy. They took very good care of us letting us check in early and check out late. They also stored our luggage for us. Very nice and would stay here again.

We really enjoyed the look and feel of the hotel, it’s like a mini tropical seaside oasis tucked towards the end of the beach, so it’s less crowded and noisy.

We didn’t like that our room lacked a view. It looked into someone’s backyard through an alley. The bathroom door also didn’t fully shut.

Fantastic location, 1 block to the beach and a very short walk to the busy part of Ocean Drive. It's the perfect distance to be close to the shops and restaurants without any noise when you're trying to sleep. The staff went above and beyond, 11/10, shout out to William at the front desk and Alberto and Nelson at the bar! We were provided a complimentary room upgrade. Room was clean, had a small couch, desk, and mini fridge. Bathroom had plenty of counter space and a spacious walk in shower with a ledge to sit, and nice double shower head. The first night they offer complimentary welcome drinks. Plus, two of the nights we stayed they hosted free cocktail making classes. It was such a fun, hands on experience. They provide you 2 beach towel cards per room to exchange for fresh beach towels each day. They have an agreement with Esteban's, one of the beach chair/umbrella vendors at South Beach, so we could get 2 chairs and an umbrella. Super convenient. There's cold, filtered water machines in the lobbies. We didn't use them but they had bicycles you could check out. Finally, there's a cute little rooftop area with some lounge chairs and extra large connect 4/jenga games. Excellent location plus excellent service makes the Balfour such a great value. We will definitely stay here again if we're ever back in Miami Beach.

They charged us for minibar services we didn't use, but quickly refunded it once I pointed it out. They said they mixed up the room number somehow. Some of the outlets in the room didn't work. I wish the pool had been open a little later at night so we could enjoy the pool after getting home from dinner in the evening. The pool is on the smaller side, just for standing and drinking but not for swimming. The elevator was slow and stiflingly hot.

The location is perfect for a tourist trip, as you are in Miami Beach. The proximity to the beach and access to beach beds cannot go unnoticed, it is so nice. The room was nice, relatively clean although dated.

The staff was okay, not overly accommodating. We got the room in what they reffered to as the older part of the hotel- there was an odor that stained all oir clothes- when we asked at the reception if it is normal, they said yes. I disagree - in Europe we have old buildings and it doesn't stink of mould.. one night there was a crazy loud sound, when we said we cannot sleep at the reception, once again - nothing to be done and it was apparently the AC. Sometimes some of the beach towels were not overly clean or big enough.

Shower pressure is low. Doors were damaged and rubbing on the floor. One side of toilet seat bracket broken. Need to clean the roof terrace furniture.

We thoroughly love the close proximity to South Beach. The location couldn’t be better. We like the rooftop lounge and seating areas. Amenities offered at the beach, chairs, umbrella, beach towels are the best available at South Beach. Staff at Estevan’s Place know how to treat its guests and customers. We love the beach and love Balfour’s location.

We didn’t like that the property is under major renovations and repairs. Might not have stayed there if we had known about the entire third floor was renovated and the main staircase was closed to us during our stay. Our room was on the 4th Floor.

Nice vibe, cool rooftop people don't really know of :) the whole hotel has a nice smell. Staff was very helpful and location can't be better. It's quite at this part of the street while a short walk will get you to the hussling area of Ocean Dr. Also, beach access is great.

We were on the older part of the hotel and I think the rooms are small. A couple would work OK but more is problematic. - No venting in bathroom - The door is also too close to the main door so sometimes you are needed to "engineer" your way out. - There is nowhere to dry bathing suites after the beach - A wierd sound was coming from A/C A major problem for us was finding parking. There is no affordable street parking around, and hotel parking is even more expensive.
