Tango de Mayo Hotel, Buenos Aires

Room was large, pretty and comfortable. The bed was very nice. Staff all helpful and kind.

Comparing this to other hotels we stayed in the same week. Bathroom was very good and large. Great location with many cafes and restaurants within walking distance.

Breakfast buffet was a bit lacking (comparing this to other hotels we stayed in in Buenos Aires in similar price category the same week). Not a lot of choices. Loose fruit available but only melon cut up. Staff was a bit disinterested in making it a nice experience for guests. All in all still good value for money.

Very nice location - walked to a nearby park and to a wine shop. The staff was very helpful with directions and taxis.

Breakfast was excellent. The hotel was beautifully decorated. The only thing that bothered me a bit was that the windows do not open at all.

Arrived at hotel very early, around 9:00 am. Room was not ready but we were offered another room at 50 % off which included breakfast that morning. We took the offer. Room was quite lovely. Front desk staff, Franco and Juana were very nice, professional and courteous. Knowlegeble as well. Has a strange experience being awakened at 0400 by copius amounts of water draining in to our room from room above on our second of three night stay. Turns out that the bidet in room above was overflowing causing big problem, so at 0400 we moved into a temporary room, until another more suitable one was available. At 0900 we transferred to a Tango Suite which was comped for the night. Giant pain but staff handled it well ! Tango suiye was great !

Original room did not have adequate shelving or hooks in bathroom. Free continental breakfast was OK, not great.

I was very happy with this hotel and stayed in several rooms with breaks in between. The superior double rooms were really spacious and light, and both had a nice large modern bathroom with a good shower. The rooms were nicely decorated and had a huge comfy bed. One room was at the side of the hotel and was quiet, but I later had a room at the front on the main avenue which was noisier from traffic. I also had a delux double room for one night which was smaller and had only frosted windows (as it was at the back of the hotel) and so was not so nice although hardly any cheaper than the superior double room. The hotel is well located right next to a metro station and a short walk to the parliament building and close to other key city sights. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The lobby was colourfully decorated and had a very stylish feel to it. Breakfast was good and had a fair choice of foods hot and cold. All in all, I found it very good value for money.

Location is great, good breakfast, convenient to travel around in BA, and safe. Staff are all very courteous and friendly. We need to depart early and the hotel was kindly to prepare breakfast for us to bring it along in the early morning. Thank you for the hospitality!

The breakfest should have little bit more of choices so you can change it bit every day, but in general it was fine..

The hotel had a Tango theme which was delightful. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were very helpful. It is a very secure hotel on a well lit street and as a solo traveller I always felt safe.

Gorgeous boutique hotel. Fantastic staff who were cheerful and amazingly helpful. They have a WONDERFUL roof top bar and a nice breakfast is included in the cafe/bar downstairs. This is one of the best hotels we have booked in over 10 years traveling abroad. The photos of the hotel on the Booking.com are very representative. Bed sure to look at them. The rooms are very large.

Beautiful architecture, location was great, in front of the house of House, reminds me of Barcelona, La Rambla in Spain.

The building kept its beautiful architectural work. It also, it was an old Singer building that was renovated into a hotel. Overall, the location, the decor, the staff, just amazing.

The bed and room accommodations were very comfortable and clean. The decor is beautiful and interesting. The staff were very customer focused and accommodating. We appreciated that they checked on our transfer from the airport to ensure all was well. The breakfast room staff met us with smiles and great service each morning. The housekeeping staff didn't miss a detail. Reception helped us with directions, restaurant referrals and other info that made our stay in Buenos Aires go smoothly. Well done and thank you!

No coffee/ tea on the room. Please add these. The coffee in the breakfast room needs improvement. It was strong and very bitter.

Rooms are very well maintained, clean and comfortable. Very kind and helpful staff. Rich breakfast buffet and very good restaurant (dinner). Bar on the top floor with great view over the city quarter. Central location near Avenida 9 de Julio. Impressive Art Nouveau style.

Lovely restored building in the center of Buenos Aires, with helpful staff and extraordinary views over the rooftops nearby. The rooms are spacious and well decorated, keeping to the tango theme.

The menu in the restaurant is somewhat unimaginative.

This hotel is a lovely boutique hotel, inside of a historic singers sewing company building. The location is perfect for walking around and sightseeing. There is a small market and a money exchange across the street. The staff were very accommodating, the rooftop bar has great views, and the food in the restaurant is very good.

I booked a Superior room ( Room 408) however it had an awful smell. The reception staff agreed and said it was an onging problem. I was moved to a standard room which was fine and the difference in cost was applied Breakfast was OK Lovely old hotel

I would have liked to have the Superior room but they were all booked. We were thee for only 1 night

The breakfast was very mediocre. Room has a bit of a musty smell.

Good location. Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. We arrived at 10 o’clock and became the room at 10:30 – which is 3 1/2 hours before official check in. That was very helpful.

The style of hotel is so quaint and yet facilities were modern. Location. Breakfast. Staff. Everything was excellent. Will definitely recommend to friends visiting B.A. Reception staff especially Franco were very nice and helpful. Top marks.

The staff at Tango de Mayo were brilliant, breakfast was very nice and the cleanliness was excellent. The location was really good and it was easy to walk to various landmarks and points of interest. Felt safe also walking at night. The roof top bar was also a highlight.

Our room was very clean but a bit tired- wall paper was peeling a bit from the corners and there was a small chunk out of the wall where someone must have hit it with a suitcase. It was also much smaller than we were expecting.

Staff were super helpful and we were able to leave our luggage there free of charge in between stays, which made travelling around the country much easier.

The coffee at breakfast was pretty bad.

Such a beautiful building and centrally located

Restaurant is not open at night. Also no coffee maker in the room. Coffee is available in the lobby, but it is not convenient to bring to the room.

Location very convenient but the street was not very nice.

The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs. Coordination of taxis was excellent and luggage storage was very much appreciated.

It’s clean and convenient to access major interesting points. It provides free luggage storage service for guest, which was a plus amenity for us since we traveled to Iguazu and leaving our luggage’s in the hotel for a few days and then came to stay a couple a days again.

Travelers ought understand that it is an old building ant not everything was convenient for modern style. For example, there are few power outlets. I have to unplugged the lamps, and the outlets are located in somewhere quite awkward to reach.
