Palacio prices! ... faded elegance. Avoid.
Jose was an outstanding concierge, as was maintenance. Fast lifts. Great food (but very expensive), waiters and bellboys too. The old gardens and all the old bits.
Our Room was poorly laid out, especially the bathroom. Air con did not work at all, even after FIVE hours, all they did was send a HUMIDIFIER. Strange, OVERHEAD heated lights in the bathroom area made me feel sick. The hotel was really a strange layout ... poorly "modernised (sic) by a deranged parrot as no true architect would have done such a bad job! Insane switches, layout, and getting around was like having a wonky sat nav. Easy to get lost. All sorts of strange nooks and crannies. The old parts are so lovely, but the new ......!!
EXAMPLE:
1) In the beautiful original reception area, they covered the ceiling with white plasterboard instead of unveiling it to match the rest of the room.
2) Reception is so fashionably 'dark', you need a torch to see!
Felt like two hotels sewn together by Bill and Ben, the Flowerpot Men. One old and wonderful and one young and grim.
Overpriced, over hyped ... best overlooked!
If you must stay ... stay ONLY in the old original bits.

Great location, great interior & friendly staff.
Very fancy hotel and garden. Great locaiton.
Staff had no clue about difference between Americano & black filtered coffee. It's a 5 star hotel! Not a 3 star hotel in the slums.
The breakfast buffet did not include eggs.

Disappointing and a waste of money
Duhau Palace is lovely, but our room was in the ultra modern Hyatt tower
Room stylish stark modern and frustrating. Light switches impossible to navigate. Lack of USB sockets unacceptable at this price level. On first night our lights fused knocking out all room power. Fixed, but without bedside lights. Toilet blocked an unusable. Given new room next morning, identical but on 16tg flor! Where the tower swayed continuously with occasional shudder. Most uncomfortable.

Not bad but quite plain and overpriced.
The location is nice. The staff is friendly and helpful.
The hotel does not seem fresh and it is definitely overpriced. For the money we spent I expected something more premium.

Very underwhelming and poor value for money
The property itself was lovely, and the gardens and outside terrace was very smart,
and well maintained
The food was poor (very average at best) and over priced, the bedrooms were not made up before 2ish in the afternoon, the balcony door kept breaking - we had to call in the engineer twice. The gardens were closed off in part for 2 of the three days for private functions (the gardens and terrace are the best part)

The indifference and lack of attention to detail or concern about us was apparent.
Location was good, lots of homelessness in neighborhood though.
The shower didn’t work, floors super slippery, room service staff not trained properly about order. Nice hotel but not a 5 star, will stay at 4 season next time, right down the block.

The only friendly individuals were those at the front desk. Unfortunately, the restaurant staff were consistently rude, creating discomfort for patrons.
