Hotel Edgar, Paris

Comfortable bed/bedding , pretty spacious, very clean, friendly staff

Location was a bit sketchy, we didn’t feel safe down a couple of the streets nearby. Having no elevator in the building we were in was a pain as we had 2 very heavy suitcases. Someone brought them up to our room which was nice, but we had to lug them down the narrow staircases at 6am when we checked out.

Quiet square, proximity to Metro Station.

Great location

Staff didn't sho me to the room across the road even though it was very late. Luckily I have stayed at the hotel before so knew where to go. I think the hotel needs an update from my last stay 6 years ago.

The location was lovely. Very near 2 metro stations. The staff was very nice.

The room was only ok. There was no head board on the bed making it feel slightly unstable. Also there is hardly any space in the reception area and the hotel is in 2 separate buildings which was not made clear in the booking. The first morning there was no hot water so was told to go across the square to the other building. A bit strange. The staff were lovely very helpful and friendly.

Central location

We had asked for adjacent rooms but instead we were in different buildings!

The style of the room was interesting. Mirrored walls and ceiling made a particular atmosphere in the bedroom, shame I was here as a solo traveler. Super dark interior all clean and modern. Very cool. They left me little cakes upon arrival. Towels were very soft and the shower was good pressure. I had windows either side of my room which made a really nice atmosphere.

No lift, many narrow corridors and stairways, youths hanging outside the entrance so it didn’t always feel safe. Reception desk is across the street making check in and out more laborious than necessary. The room is all black and only low lights, made it difficult to see and to get ready in the morning. No light switches near the bed meant I had to get up and go to the door to turn the light off and then walk through the whole room in the pitch black to go to bed.

The breakfast was exceptional. There were lots of choices for breakfast. I loved the homemade granola and fresh squeezed orange juice.

The size of the room was cramped, but we had 2 large suitcases.

Decor, location on a quiet square

I loved the location and it felt very local. Its very close to everything

No real lobby but has a lovely restaurant

The room was a good size and nicely designed

The shower screen did not contain the water so the bathroom was drenched. The room was a little dark. We had a long wait to check out. Although the breakfast was included, the final bill included a charge for a supplement of cheese (which was removed but it shouldn’t have been there).

Breakfast excellent and served nicely We also ate twice in the restaurant which we found very good. Small but delicious menu, very well served and good jolly atmosphere both times as well as at breakfast. Bed large and very comfortable. Bedroom quite small but adequate with double aspect windows. Staff helpful. Loved the location -perfectly quiet and attractive small piazza with café tables and two nice restaurants to choose from.

Size aside, which you can't alter, we were very happy staying here and would be happy to return

The hotel is perfectly located, close to key attractions and public transport. The staff provided excellent service, always friendly and attentive, making my stay comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommended!

I have an issue with one of the beds. Just need to be careful with the cleaning.

It was clean in a nice neighborhood. The design pf the rooms was nice and chic.The breakfast didn’t have much variety but it was REALLY GOOD and filling.

Although the room was 18m2 but it was pretty small for 2 people with luggage.

Shower wasn't very good

Lovely room, the air con worked but we didn’t really need to use it, even though the weather was hot. Location was great for us, just a few metro stops from Gare du Nord. We had breakfast one day in the cafe across the square in the other part of the hotel.

As other people have commented, it would be great to have a kettle in the room. We are British and like hot drinks at all times of day! Also, the room we were in didn’t have a door on the shower room, I guess this was intentional to make it feel bigger, but it was just annoying really and we would have preferred a door. Would have given this hotel a 10 for a kettle and a bathroom door!

The restaurant staff did not come across particularly nice so decided to eat elsewhere. At dinner time the restaurant was closed. It was a minor thing for me but not sure for others!

Breakfast was basic. Its' location is convenient for our activities. The storage service was great.

Very cool hotel and nicely decorated rooms, great location, cool bar. They were accommodating to add in an extra bed for our daughter.

Tiny reception area which was very busy when we arrived. It took over 30 mins to check in. We were provided free drinks at the bar whilst we waited and the security/porter was kind and accommodating. The main concern was security in the hotel. The door to access to hotel rooms above the bar had a piece of paper attached to it to disable the swipe card so it meant that anyone from the bar could enter upstairs. Our bedroom door also didn’t lock. It made us feel slightly unnerved, particularly as we had our young daughter with us.

Amazingly central with very friendly and helpful staff

No coffee or tea manning facilities in the room. But this is a very minor issue - we were surrounded by incredible coffee shops so were spoilt for choice once out

Hotel quiet and clean. Nice view from the room. Breakfasts and dinner high quality. Position central.

People at reception were friendly but did not give a lot of information about what to do/see/where to eat in Paris. Depending on the waiter responsible for the breakfast, different mistakes at the breakfast and service sometimes very slow. Generally a very good experience, just some minor details can be improved!

The barman/waiter in your bar was arrogant and rude. It was nice to get a welcome drink but he could not have been less welcoming.

The location is good as we arrive at Gare du Nord. Breakfast pricey (19 euros) but very good

Room was a bit chilly (end Jan) and the bed reading lights were not working. The b’fast at 19 euros is for the full version. If you only want a continental (coffee, juice and croissant) don’t include b’fast and pay at the restaurant (10.50 for the simple version)

Stayed with our 13 year old daughter . Room was compact but clean and in a great location to access the main attractions in Paris . Our breakfast was included and the quality was excellent. I liked the fact that it wasn’t a buffet and it was cooked fresh to order . The staff were casual and relaxed , very pleasant . We have zero French and they were so lovely about this with us and our daughter . We wanted a relaxing trip this hotel suited us . If you prefer instant service might not be the place for you but if you are happy to have a chill out break highly recommend

For 3 the room was a little tight . We were only there for 3 nights so it worked fine with 2 adults and 1 teen . Couldn’t imagine it for 3 adults in the room .

Breakfast is served in the restaurant opposite the hotel, we had a reservation that included breakfast. We did enjoy breakfast, only on the last day, we were leaving early and we asked to make a package to take with us. The manager has confirmed that the breakfast package will be ready in the morning. Unfortunately was nothing prepared, which was a bit disappointing. The location was just perfect, with everything you could reach within walking distance.

The rooms were very small, but we used the room only to sleep, so was ok.

Staff were friendly and allowed me to store my luggage the next day as I explored town. If you had a car it would be a nightmare to find. Catch a taxi or uber

Hard to find

Everyone was helpful, responded to my queries immediately, such as, explaining my way to the Paris Opera,, guiding me to an ATM, ordering a taxi.

Nothing, it’s in a 19 century building, completely renovated. My 6th floor room was in a corner, so I had two large windows one with a balcony. There is a small elevator. It is very well situated in the second arrondissement, bead rue Montorgueuil, an iconic pedestrian street.

Great location in the 2nd arondissement close to a lot of the Paris sights. Room is relatively new and was clean, although very small. Great shower and bed was comfy.

Small room, but nothing out of the ordinary for Paris. Street was loud at night but not the hotel's fault.

Maybe a bit too sexy room for a work trip, but super cool and clean nonetheless. First time for me to wake up looking at my own reflection in the ceiling mirror.

Excellent location; small but very tastefully decorated/ renovated room; while small, bathroom, shower and wardrobe expertly included in the room; comfortable bed and light and airy room. Perfect for 2-3 day stay as I was out walking around Paris. Concierge/ front desk staff very friendly and helpful (ordered me early taxi to airport -5am)

Nothing.

The location is excellent, near le Marais, rue de Montorgeuil, etc., yet in its quiet square. Our room was decent yet small, as expected; different rooms have different styles with that 'boutique' feel. There is a good choice for breakfast à la carte, and the staff is accommodating. A good stay, thank you!
