Located on the river, 10 minute walk to hop on hop off bus, a must do. Sensational breakfast, very friendly helpful stall. Large well appointed rooms. Excellent western spoken TV/ movie channels

From check-in to check-out, the front-of-house staff at Mandarin Oriental exceeded all expectations. Warm, professional, and incredibly attentive, they made me feel truly valued as a guest. Whether it was providing local recommendations, assisting with bookings, or simply greeting with a smile every time I walked by, their dedication to guest satisfaction was clear in every interaction. Special thanks to Luigi Savarese who went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. From helping me download all the apps necessary for my first time in china , to helping me many times with my internet vpn connection , to recommending places where to go , etc ! Their hospitality set the tone for a memorable stay, and I would absolutely return based on this experience alone. Highly recommended!

I wish the breakfast had more variety of food and lasted a bit longer than 10:30 am! But the food was amazing.

Friendliness and outstanding hospitality

Easily the best hotel I have stayed in , and I have stayed in many . The service is on a level I have never encountered. A special thanks to Mr Lucas Li and Mr Luigi . The view is stunning and the breakfast fantastic . I’m currently in Japan at my next hotel and I already miss the Mandarin Shanghai

Location wise, the hotel sets next to river boardwalk which has a jogging and cycling track, multiple restaurants and nice views towards shanghai sky line in addition to ferry station which is easy way to cross to river other side They have shuttle bus services that takes you anywhere within 2km from the hotel for free The staff were helpful and always available to assist Most if them speaks english and easy to communicate with We lost a package in the train station and they managed to get it back in less than 2 days The kids enjoyed the indoor swimming pool

Breakfast buffet was the only downside, same food everyday which wasnt great And the options were limited to someone who doesnt eat pork

The staff Mr. Luigi was a truly considerate, patient, and exceptional person, going above and beyond to assist me with my check-in who really made my day. And manager Sally was also nice in resolving some situations that happened during my stay. Overall, my experience at the Mandarin Oriental was outstanding, thank you so much Mr Luigi.

He was so helpful and full of information what I need , This hotel hotel also prepared free transportation around 2 km form hotel, its very convient for us to travel , thx a lot

The room is great. Plenty of space and very comfortable. Service is excellent. Breakfast is very extensive and very tasty. The Zest restaurant has good variety of food and wines.

Good view from my room, all receptionists service were very nice and polite. Especially Staff name‘s Vemi who is very warm welcome and provide various informations, moreover she helps a lot when we got some problems in my rooms. We are very impressed Mandarin Oriental hotel in Shanghai because of her☺️ Even bellman also very helpful and memorize every customer. About the breakfast at hotel is so perfect.

Restroom at frontdesk was not clean enough when we use while checkin

All the staff were kind and friendly. I think the woman who seems to be in charge of the club rooms is an excellent staff member. I had a comfortable stay from check-in to check-out.

The only bad thing is the toilet. The toilet itself is clean, but the toilet seat is cold. I wish they would change it to a heated toilet seat.

The rooms were big and had nice river view. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The location was a bit far from malls and dining. About a fifteen minutes walk to the pearl tower,however the hotel provides a shuttle to one of the big malls in the area.

Spacious and well-appointed rooms, breakfast was excellent, gym and swimming pools are top-class and above all service is extremely professional and attentive. The concierge and duty manager Wen-Bo Zhao were particularly helpful. We highly recommend this hotel and will be back for sure!

This hotel was outstanding in every way. We had not expected much from Shanghai as it was just where we had to fly to and from for our trip to Japan. We stayed 2 nights just to ensure we made the connection. If only we had realised how amazing Shanghai would be and that this hotel was the icing on the cake. I would recommend this hotel as it is ideal in every way. The view from the room was out of this world.

Incredible hotel

Having opted for Club rooms was the right decision. The complementary breakfast, discounts on spa and food in the restaurants, two pieces of dry cleaning per day and the club lounge made it all worthwhile.

Everyone was very professional! the hotel is at an excellent location and all the staff members set an example of politeness, helpfulness, and professionalism. I loved the hotel premises, the cleanliness - EVERYTHING. This is the only hotel that I will book if I visit Shanghai again!

Amazing rooms, the best concierge and overall facilities. I like that it’s in Pudong so that it’s away from the chaos of Nanjing Lu.

It’s 15 minute walk from the metro station which sometimes can be tiring after a long day of touring around, but it’s also not far enough to get a taxi.

Stunning MO hotel with excellent gym, spa and dining options. Beautiful, comfortable and ultimate luxury. The staff were also fantastic - Carson in particular was super helpful and gave us the most fantastic room!

The location is just over the river from “downtown” Shanghai so not ideal for some of the sights

I had a truly wonderful stay at Mandarin Oriental. The accommodations were comfortable and the amenities were top-notch. I was particularly impressed with the exceptional customer service provided by Sophie and Sunnie. Their friendly demeanor and helpfulness made my stay even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a fantastic experience.

Exceptionally friendly staff, clean and a gorgeous hotel

The hotel is simply stunning with an amazing view of the oriental pearl tower, and not far from it. I also liked the facilities and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The bathroom/closet took over half of the room and it couldn’t close properly which is not ideal if you’re not staying with your partner.
