Greulich Design & Boutique Hotel, Zurich

The location was superb! There are tram and bus stops within a 1-minute walk from the hotel. It is also conveniently located for taxi drop-offs and pick-ups, which I used on my way to and from the hotel (Zurich Flughafen/ airport or Zurich HauptBanhof (HB)/ train station). The airport is about 15 minutes by taxi while the train station is about 10 minutes. My flight landed early in the morning and the hotel was full, so I could not check in when I arrived there. However, there was ample space to store my belongings while I took a tour of the city and came back to check in at 3 pm. I got a free upgrade from the hotel and so was given one of the standalone "container-style" rooms. The room itself was on the grounds, with many others around it. The bed and bathroom was on the ground level and there was a small mezzanine above, with a couch, TV, a desk/chair, and a lovely view of the back gardens. A nice mini-forest was within the grounds, with chairs set up to enjoy the view. The staff were quite helpful and kind. I recommend this place!

Breakfast was very basic for the price. It is served afternoon tea-style, with a tower of mainly cold dishes, including Bircher muesli, deli meat cuts, cheese, a croissant, and some bread, butter, and jams. I wish there were some hot dishes prepared as it was rainy and cold when I was there and I longed for an omelet or sausages. You have to prepare boiled eggs yourself. Coffee or tea is served by the ladies at reception. There is no A/C in the rooms but there is a huge floor-standing fan. I am not used to this style of ventilation, so unfortunately with the air blowing directly in my face at night, I got a bit of a sore throat the next day.

Really liked this hotel, great design with lots of space, very clean quiet and comfortable with friendly staff in a convenient location walkable to Zurich centre. The restaurant at the hotel is also really nice and they had an amazing chef designed epic sandwich menu initiative whilst I was there which was a very cool and innovative idea and super executed - delicious sandwiches available all day!

Room was a little hot as there was no aircon but they do provide a fan so it's manageable

Well designed hotel with plenty of amenities matching the 'boutique' price. Access to internal courtyard, Breakfast was delicious and nicely presented. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Free bicycle rental.

Window with visual to look out is a little small but the access to courtyard made up to it. Plus there are other windows to allow the natural light in so it doesn't feel to restrictive.

The Greulich is well designed and has an excellent breakfast, the rooms are really cool, but can feel claustrophobic (only one real window that opens to the parking lot side.

No air conditioning was a bit of an inconveniance with the 37C° heat, but at night with the fan on and the window open I managed to sleep so overall it was OK.

Lovely room, the staff is amazing. I felt like I was part of something special. The location is spectacular. One of those hotel experiences that you would absolutely never forget.

There is some confusion when you get there. Is it a restaurant? Is it a hotel? When you check in, you check into the restaurant...kind of weird.

the staff were very nice and kind the rooms were clean didn't have breakfast or any food at the hotel we parked our car at the hotel parking place for 25 CHF per night

there wasn't something in particular that was unpleasant the rooms and the atmosphere did not give us a pleasant time as other hotels in Germany it was really hot and there is NO airconditioner which made it very difficult to sleep and get some rest

The room was dark and small. The shower was very unsafe.

it's a very cool, nice hotel and very peaceful. a great outside terrace. it's very chill and laid-back. I felt like I was on vacation

no AC and it was very hot, the room has no air, no windows , a ridiculous small TV. it's so laid back that if you need help you will not really get it

If you're planning a trip to Zurich and looking for a comfortable and stylish stay, the Greulich Design Hotel is an excellent choice! We spent a few nights at this hotel recently, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. The hotel is situated in a fantastic spot, with easy access to all the city has to offer. The hotel is also conveniently located near Tram / Bus Stops, making it easy to explore the city. Our room itself  was another highlight, It was beautifully designed and super clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean and modern. Greulich offers a wide range of fresh and healthy options available at breakfast. From freshly baked bread & Pastries to a selected range of cheese and vegetarian options. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and helpful advice about what to see and do in Zurich. Overall, I can't recommend this Hotel highly enough

Location was good but a little further out of town then we thought but easy to find and easy to reach the center. Good value for money. Friendly and polite staff. Very clean and modern rooms with everything you need.

Nothing really apart from the pillows were very soft which isn't for me but not a bad thing for other people.

Modern, minimalistic and clean. Lovely hotel, with amazing staff. Highly recommended. We dined in the restaurant and the food was absolutely delicious.

People on duties are wonderful, outside and inside design of the hotel and room (except the bathroom), yard, garden, restaurant, breakfast are great! Cozy and nice!

The design of the room is not as comfortable as it is beautiful - the shower is small and the water goes across the floor from the shower to the toilet, it does not dry out, the open space for the bath is also not a very convenient solution, it's cold when you leave after a shower, you can't hang towels and a bathrobe on a hanger or hooks they just don't exist! No fridge or minibar and no coffee machine. These are all very small, but necessary little things for 100% comfort.

The location is great for work. It's a calm hotel with relaxing open outdoor spaces. The staff is very friendly and welcoming.

The ratio of value for money for those particular dates was extremely low. I am not sure there is any way to justify why it was so expensive per night. It was only booked because I needed a place to stay on those particular dates.
