Central and safe location

Facilities were great. The room and bed were comfortable. Great shower.

Parking was a hassle. You have to park on the street somewhere random and there is not much. Then there may or may not be room in their parking garage.

Nice linen and bathrooms, great location, walking distance to lots of shops and cafes.

Not overly luxurious, and more basic than I expected based on the rating.

Just a few quirks: had to wait a long time to get key while receptions chatted with a couple in front of us. The bathroom door (which seemed like a front door you’d have on a house) was so heavy and swung open unless you really pulled it shut. I kept thinking it was a very odd design choice.

Beds were comfortable, quiet at night. Nice drapes to keep away the morning sun and ability to sleep in. Great happy hours every evening with wine and snacks.

Sabah who greeted us at the front desk was very nice and knowledgeable. The location was perfect for us. The bed was very comfy!

We had a room with a connecting door and it was not sound proof and you could see light peeping through from the other room. The hotel guests in that room had a dog who cried when when the guests were out and then they were pretty loud when they came home.

This hotel was very close to our destination, The Fillmore. It was very clean, and the staff were very friendly and professional. We were only there one night, so we didn't use the other amenities. The room was fairly large for San Francisco standards, and it had a balcony which was great!

The room when we walked in had a musty smell to it which happens to me a lot when I stay in San Francisco. You quickly become nose blind to it, so it wasn't a problem. $49 per night to park is pretty outrageous even for San Francisco. This is for self parking not valet. We took a ride share everywhere as not to have to pay several times for parking, so it worked out, I guess.

Great location. Lovely room with fresh linens and pillows. Didn’t care for the breakfast of the slow speed of the waiter. I would think they would have at least one Asian style breakfast. But it was nothing special. Just filling the plate with bowl of honey and jam.

I paid for a City View and was very happy with the view I was given. I was on the 8th floor so that helped, too.

I really missed having the ability to make coffee in the room. I am up at 4:00 am and had to wait two hours. The coffee bar in the lobby was great though. The fitness room should be bigger, crowded with 3 of us in there, however it was nice to have at least that option.

Location was wonderful - a quiet part of time and close to everything we needed.

Didn’t really have any ready information for out-of-towners - all questions were answered with, “you should google it”

The staff was friendly, helpful, and professional. The hotel's location in San Francisco's Japantown is exceptional. (We all need to explain why we are not living in SF.) The wi-fi was fast and free throughout the hotel. The rooms are clean and well-provisioned.

My routine was to have the hotel's excellent coffee, which was located in the lobby, every morning. I drank my coffee at a hotel table in the lobby while reading the New York Times on my laptop. However, the piped-in background music was way too loud. Furthermore, the music played was rap or other tunes inappropriate to morning tranquility. Also, the hotel facilities themselves are showing their age--the management needs to refurbish the facilities, perhaps floor by floor.

The location was convenient to Fillmore St.

The bathroom was not fully cleaned from previous guests.

The room is spacious and quiet, the bed is comfortable (could be a bit firmer), and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. The location is one of the best for dining out and walking around in San Francisco in my opinion.

This is a minor thing that I noticed. Look at the photo I attached of the hotel. On the right side of the photo you'll notice some rust on the window area- perhaps time for some paint touchup!

Beds were very comfortable. Room was quiet. Amazing couch set up in the window to see the view.

There was no creamer for the coffee. Only milk. :(

Great room, get the minimalist approach but a bit more storage space would have been good given the overall space in the room. Great shower, air-con etc. location was perfect with good access to all well known tourist spots in San Fran and some great eating spots in local area. Parking was easily accessible and great convenience albeit very expensive..

A beautiful hotel with great staff. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The area is unique and feels quite safe. They held our luggage on check out day allowing us to go out without worrying about leaving our stuff in the car all day.

Parking garage was full even though we arrived not long after check in, so we had to park a couple blocks away.

Unhappy receptionists, they need to be little more professional and welcoming, and no parking for everyone even though its advertised as it has parking on site

New, clean, person at the desk when we got in early was so accommodating. She let us get into the garage, and store our bags with her until we could check in. She also advised us that we could check in early on a ground floor room right then or wait for a better room up a few floors in a few hours. The happy hour with wine in the evening and coffee in the morning was a nice perk. Nice to have 2 EV chargers dedicated to Teslas which I drive.

The #1 thing that bothered us was on the morning we were to leave, we had the do not disturb sign out and at about 9:30am, the maid knocked on our door, after she had already asked me when I went out for coffee, when we were checking out. We found her to be too aggressive and had we been asleep when she knocked, it would really have been maddening. Why post the DO NOT DISTURB Sign?! The sink area offered very little space for this mother/daughter to have room for makeup although the bathroom was quite spacious. There seemed to be a constant low whistle due to the wind. That may have been due to the fact that this was in the spring and there is a lot of that in CA at this time of year.

Love the decor, the hotel is spotless and the neighborhood is quiet and convenient.

Those at the front desk were exceptionally accommodating! That really made a very favorable impression. So was the manager at cocktail hour. By the was ,that was a nice treat.

We were on street level.

Location was lovely, near Filmore and Japantown. Lots of food options close by.

Rooms were small, parking was tight.

The room was spacious for 3 people and very clean. The beds were super comfy! Location was amazing, quiet and safe. Parking was included in the price so we didn’t have to worry about it. The stuff was very polite! Also, during the holidays they offered complimentary coffee, tea or hot chocolate with multiple toppings!

The room needs a bit of renovation or redecoration. It might not be that old but decoration is dull and it looks old.

Bed was very comfy! and Clean sheets all around.

Temperature was a bit cold, heat didn't really kick in well.

This hotel is just in the right spot - Japantown and all it has to offer. It's easy to get to anywhere in the city from this excellent location. The staff is uniformly friendly and helpful. The lobby decor and ambience is welcoming and pleasant.

The bedding and the pillows. The beds were never made such that the bottom sheet was actually fitted around the mattress, and I'm not talking about a fitted sheet. (the sheet slid around a lot). The pillows were never comfortable, even if one tried to stack the pillows to achieve some kind of firmness for one's head. Wish there had been a chair in the room (other than at the desk) for reading.

Superb hotel in the heart of Japantown. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room clean, modern, spacious, bright and quite. They offer complementary tea and coffee in the morning.

Price; through that seem to reflect the general costs in San Francisco.
