A very nice and cozy place to stay in Milan. The rooms and facilities are clean and well organized. The alternative area downstairs is a highlight offering space for various activities. Comfortable to work too. The staff is nice and friendly.

Since there is only online check-in and no reception desk it would be good to have more detailed instructions, especially regarding the indications about entrance points after 11 pm. They indicate that after the main gate closes, you can access the yard from the secondary one using the given PIN, but for us it did not work. We had to find the third entrance (in front of MUDEC).

Facilities like bathroom shower and self check in check out. Share kitchen etc was very nice. Beds were comfortable. Room was spacious. Place had a bar on the same building and live performances.

Approx 8 stops metro from Milan centrale. You will walk through rough looking area to get there. Share area had people sleeping on the couches in the morning. Looked like bit of a party town but fun if you speak Italian and get on with the crowd. Oh and drinks are very expensive at the bar on the building. Loved casabase didn't love the location so much

Really stylish and easy to find/access/navigate. Thought it was cool and well situated.

More style than substance- lights were cool but did not light the room (and two of four lamps didnt work), aircon placement didnt work in the room but guessing the nature of the refurb mean they had to be where they were. Also no mirrors in the room. And someone playing the communal piano in the hall at 7.30am 😭😭

Easy check in, very big room for the two of us as we had x2 single beds, we would have preferred 1 double but not a big deal. It felt clean but would have been nice to have a mirror in there rather than having to go to the bathroom to get ready etc. another thing to be mindful of is the air con wasn’t great so lucky we weren’t there in really hot weather as I think we would have struggled. Over all an easy stay and good value for money.

Great atmosphere at BASE. Good location near the Navigli canals. Clean room and facilities.

Communication about arrival and key codes wasn’t great. Showers were clean but the water was cold and weak! Two lamps in our room were broken.

We tried to contact the host several times (through WhatsApp, this booking.com app, and email) about an urgent request and never did hear back through any platform. The host is totally hands off.

Very large rooms, with towels bedding - everything you would need. Bathrooms very clean with a full size mirror, 2 toilets and 2 showers. Easy access as doors open with a code that you receive morning of your booking. This is the same code for entrance doors and bedroom doors. Common area is well decorated.

The ease of checking as self service with good security for entry was reassuring.

The directions for walking to the station should be slightly more clear as the first pedestrian bridge is closed and there is much construction

The room is excellent for a single double bed room, the style is very cool and unique. I couldn't find stuff in the kitchen so I went downstair to the cafe and asked for help, the lady was very nice and willing to help me directly. The room is comfy and very simple, I enjoyed the quiet time by myself.

As the first time staying at the hostel that does not have actual staff, it was a little bit complicated to me for finding the room, but of course they will send you a clear instruction file through email , make sure you read as soon as arrive. To pay tax is quite complicated if you don't use Paypal or does not have an account can transfer money internationally. The only thing is the shower room that I can't get used to, it's a push button that will slowly come back and the the water will be off, so it took me about 10-15 mins for the hot water to come out and I had to keep pushing the button while showering, and the water pressure is strong but the shower head is kinda facing the wall. The shower room has a smell but i think it might be the pipe. I saw bugs in shower room and also in my room but it's nothing harmful or scary, it's probably the weather.

The common area was nice and well organised. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable. It was close to public transportation and right inside the BASE cultural centre

The beds were a bit dusty. The showers were old and there was no hot water. We had the feeling of being the only guests of the structure during those two days

The location was good for the value of money

It’s weird.. not in a bad way don’t worry. It was a wood bunk bed and I slept in the upper bunk bed and it didn’t have any bed guard and it was almost 2 meters high 😅 I didn’t sleep at all I thought I’ll fall down hahahah. Anyways it was ok tho

Felt a bit remote but I’m sure in the summer the vibe is completely different. We arrived late and couldn’t find exactly how to get to the room. Likely I was with a friend and we found our way.

Location serves to purpose. Lampugnano bus located in front of the casabase. Pretty close to navigli like 10 min by walking.

There is no staff to consult on. For instance if hostel has a kitchen we didnt know that because there is no sign of staff to ask them. Entrances and doors are a bit complicated to handle with it at the first time. There is no mirror in the room.

Perfect stay for the youth. Everything is clean and new, sunny windows, delicious coffee in the hall.

The rooms are really hard to find, the signs are not easily understandable for foreigners and we had to ask the ladies in the café to help us find our place. I suggest the owners to put huge signs saying “hostel this way”, not just “room 1400”, because yeah, we did not get that one, and it was hard to differentiate the staff only doors from the residents’ doors. Apart from that, everything was perfect. :)

Cool structure and concept, super modern and clean facilities

No warm water in the morning, we only got one towel for two people (not even a smaller one), and 10-15 minute walk to the station was a bit annoying

Easy access thanks to the pre-check-in and PIN code to doors. Good location, relatively close to metro line 2. Lovely room - big and equipped with nice furniture. Shared kitchen and lounge were both very nice and spacious.

As from what my girlfriend described, the women’s bathroom had unpleasant smells and only cold water.

I went to have breakfast and when I returned (before check out time) there was an employee cleaning the room and my belongings were there, I would check out that morning. It was super inconvenient.

The location and the area are great. The sharing space is wonderful . Rooms are big and extremely quiet, even with music going on downstairs which was pleasantly surprising

The lights in my room were not working and there was none in the nearby to ask info to. I got to my hotel room pretty late and had to leave the next day, so no way to resolve the issue No products like shampoo, shower gel or hand soap available. Not sure if it was indicated on the room description Tho.

Nice building. Nice area with some restaurants and bars but far enough away from the super touristy canal.

In august the bar downstairs and rooftop are closed. Those were a bit the reasons we choose this place over another place. Would be good to mention in advance.

It was a pleasant stay, the localization is okay, close to the metro and bus. The staff is nice and helpful. It's a cool object that also offers you some cultural or bar-party experience. You can also use kitchen where you can find glass for your wine :)

The rooms weee very basic. No mirror or safe etc.

Stylish place and area, with good transport links to get to the city centre. There is also a lovely bar just downstairs, and plenty of good looking restaurants within 5 min distance which do not feel like a tourist trap, as this is very much a work area for many locals.

The air con wasnt great in the room so it was hard to keep the room at the right temperature, and there was some smell accumulating in our bathroom if we closed the doors.

The location was perfect. The staff at the bar were lovely and the bar itself was great. The rooms were lovely and stylish.

The lack of reception and the terrible ait conditioning.

An interesting cultural hub - factory converted to art space, bars and hostel. Along with a pleasing aesthetic, the room had all the basics - comfy big bed, power sockets both sides, cold aircon, fan, rack to hang clothes. Shared bathrooms were ok, relatively clean and modern. The rooftop bar was cool, plenty of plants and nice view of the sunset. Beware the mosquito's after dark!

One of the two women's showers didn't work - no hot water. Probably less of a tourist spot and more suited to local Italians, closer to a hotel than a social hostel (negative for us, hard to meet people)

it was very hot when we got into the room which wasnt ideal but aired out quickly with the windows open. Directions for the night entrance weren't super clear so it was hard to find at first.

Great hostel in historic train factory in walking distance to Navigli district and metro.

Recommendation to management: install mosquito nets in all rooms. With open window at night we had a mosquito invasion with over 20 bites each..

Liked the high ceilings in the room, felt very airy and spacious. Nice communal area and kitchenette. Easy to check in. Nice local area. Not disturbed by noise at any point.

Don't personally like having to share a bathroom, but we knew about this when booking and helped keep the cost low.

The location, venue, and the large shared living room/kitchen are great. It's all remarkably clean. The city centre is a short tramride away. Plus, there are many restaurants and a large supermarket nearby.

The top bunk in room 2 has no barrier. It was quite hot in the room, even in early May. Noise is also an issue: there's a busy street outside, there are people coming in and out all the time, and there are events at the venue downstairs at the weekend.

We really love the location close by the Navigli and also very easy to walk up to the city centre. The aera is very lively, but quiet as well, so we really recommend this place!

Amazing warehouse style massive rooms with really high ceilings. Very modern stylish hotel. The living room and bathrooms are shred which is nice because it allows you to leave your room. I prefer that over staying in a standard hotel room. The staff was helpful before checkin and had clear instructions. Only issue is that we miss the human contact with staff. There should be a reception. I like that human contact. Otherwise the place is really nice! Should have stayed there more days.

Large room, comfy bed, cute common space, good location. There was an event on the night we stayed so we were provided free tickets, a drink each and earplugs. The place is quite well soundproofed, so wasn't too loud.

The showers could use an update, the water doesn't flow properly. People were smoking in their rooms and the hallway smelt like cigarettes. There were cigarettes in the bathroom.

Good place and the facilities were clean and comfortable. The location was also fantastic - it was in a vibrant neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and cafes and just a short walk from some of the city's main attractions.

The top bunk is difficult to climb, unprotected and there was a wide gap between it and the wall. We moved the mattress to the floor for the night.
