Babila Hostel & Bistrot, Milan

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful, they allow me to keep my luggage in the store place and was very safety. The location was very near to Metro station and Duomo Cathedral. The facilities were wonderful such as WiFi and private locker in the room. I would like to visit the hostel again in my next trip to Milano as well as I will recommend my friends to stay with this hostel.

I booked this on short notice and didn't pay attention to all that the facilities included, nor did I stay long enough to use it to it's full extent, but it's very complete, from a yoga room to guest kitchens (despite having a bistrot available! A lot of hostels that do sell food do not allow outside edible items). Locks were included, I felt safe, it's very well located and nice looking.

Common bathrooms could be cleaner. Might be hard to keep it that way since there's very little space between toilets and showers.

The location and bathroom are good. Good value of money to stay in the hostel

The duvet is too thin to provide adequate warmth, and the heater fails to generate sufficient heat to compensate

The place is very clean and rather comfortable (as for a hostel). Our common 6-people room had a bathroom which was very convenient. I also liked that we could leave our bags for free for the whole day after the checkout. The breakfast is available on site and the price is good. The personnel speaks English very well.

They take additional fee for renting the towels which is not great taking into account the price for the bed is already high (yes, it’s not that high for Milan in general, but overall I can’t say it was cheap). Not very close to the city centre or railway station (about 30-35 min on foot).

Sometimes neighbors, the light in the kitchen turns off at 21:00, but what if I want to cook a dinner this time? Also, the metal chairs in the balcony would be more convenient with pillows on them

It’s a very comfortable hostel with a nice staff. It’s away from crowds but still close to everything.

Bathroom door was not closing properly. When somebody needs to use the toilet at night, all other guests need to listen the concert. Also why you even used these short doors inside the bathroom? So disturbing.

The kitchen is really clean and well equipped, there is also a terrace balcony attached. Mattress and pillows are comfortable

The bunk beds are not the most secure to get in and out of as there are not railings at the foot-end. I fell from the top bunk when attempting to climb down on my second night there. There is a set of stairs to get into the property before the lift becomes available

Liked the general location, the rooms and bathrooms were nice and clean, the staff was friendly and the lift was this old vintage style that was very pretty.

There aren't too many restaurants or cafes immediately next to the hostel in case you want to go for a late night bite.

I just spent a few hours there because my flight arrived very late and I had to check out by 11 am. Bed was comfortable, room was ok, bathroom was clean. I didn't use the shower, so can't comment on it. Staff was efficient and helpful when asking for directions. Safe area at night and very good location. Good value for money overall.

Do not rely on the lift, gets stuck all the time and there are plenty of stairs. Not ideal if you travel with a lot of luggage.

As a muslim person i was lucky to find (bidet) in the bathroom which is something you wont find in the most hostels , staff are very helpful and smily. Locations is good.

Its huge hostel located in very quite location. But 10mins walk from the hostel its a different world as Duomo is 10mins walk from the hostel.

The bathroom is very small that you cant even move while taking bath. I'm slim person still I was struggling inside it.

The hostel was clean. It was in a quiet location. The bed was comfortable. (However in August on the top of the bunk bed was a bit hot. 😅) Everybody was kind except one guy.

Deposite for the card and key. (As a backpacker I got shocked. 😄) The guy at the reception. He was rude.

The staff were really nice and helpful. The hostel is around 10 minutes walk from the metro station. I really loved how every room has its own bathroom and how every floor has a separate bathroom with a shower and toilets outside, so if your in-room bathroom is occupied, you can just go to the one outside. The bar downstairs is awesome too. You can work and socialize in it. There are a few social events held at the hostel if you want to get to know people. There is also a laundry toom in the hostel which can be helpful. Internet was a great plus point. The internet was excellent all over the hostel. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Zero privacy in the rooms. Beds were not private at all. No curtains or wooden boards. You can literally see everyone. And with people coming in in the middle of the night and mobile phone flashes, it made it next to impossible to have a good night sleep in the middle of the night. Also, when I was checking in, I checked in in the middle of the night. The hostel door was closed. I kept knocking for 20 minutes or so, until someone opened the door, even though I sent a message to the hostel telling them that I will be checking in late.

It was not expensive, the shower was good.

The AC does not work.

The staff were all really lovely and helpful. It was super clean, and when they did my laundry it came back smelling great. The hostel is in a wonderful historic building, including an antique elevator. The bunks have a modern design which gives you some privacy.

I'd love to have more comfortable seating downstairs.

Friendly, helpful staff. Nice rooms, I appreciated the extra bathrooms & showers at the end of the hall in addition to the one in the room. Breakfast had a typical food and drink options. Neighborhood felt quite safe, and I liked the lockers to store your things in during the day.

No real complaints, it had everything I needed and I felt comfortable the whole time.

Could lock your items away in your room.

Curtains over the beds would have been a lot more beneficial.Also the place was advertised as a bistro but only did breakfast.Don’t mind that it didn’t do food but that’s class advertisement!.

i was there during the summer and had the upper bunk. either the ac wasn’t strong enough, or the room wasn’t isolated enough, but it would get extreamly hot on the upper bunks. when i was packing my stuff the air was nice and cool, but the second i climbed up to my bunk, a heatwave hit me.

Great clean rooms, beds were comfortable, the en-suite shower room was a good size and the water pressure was good. The terrace by the kitchen is a nice feature - I enjoyed eating dinner and watching the sky change with the sunset. The old elevator is a really cute feature.

The kitchen seemed to be the victim of a cutlery gnome as the usual range of spoons, forks and knives wasn't ideal. The AC in the room was adequate but only just. Maybe providing just a sheet cover as well as the duvet during the hot summer months can help customers regulate their body temp better.
