The Vagabond Hotel, Miami

Nice location

On first night we were checking in pretty late and the lady that we checked in with she didn’t have time to show us how the facility works there however she was very nice and friendly. In the next morning ,we went to the lobby to ask nicely how to open the swimming pool gate. The concierge, Arial he doesn’t have service-minded at all. The way he responded us was so rude!!!! Instead of being helpful to the guests , he said “Are you the guest here? His tone was very inappropriate with the judgement face. Then a guest behind us who were about to check out, told us how to open the swimming gate instead of him. However at the end he did show us. But he gave us very poor hospitality treated. He should improve his service minded for the better. We were very disappointed.

The hotel is an oasis behind the wall of bushes with a beautiful pool and a very modern room with a huge walk in shower. The staff was very friendly and check in was smooth.

The only complaint was the surrounding area was a little uncomfortable and run down in some area but it is to be expected in a city as big as Miami.

Was clean , they have parking for free, not far with a car from downtown.

Water in the sink doesn’t drain good, ac is in the room and make a lot of noise , also in the room they have humidifier that make a lot of noise as well , so to sleep you have to turn off both of them , all night you hear noise from the cars that driving back and forth, so it’s not quite place at all.

Our room was large and quite fresh and well equipped . The bed was huge with good quality sheets . We had a comfortable night

The location was pretty grim . I’m writing this as a couple from the uk who are spending two nights in Miami pre cruise . We felt the location was awful on a busy main road with nowhere nice within walking distance . Our second night was at Marriott biscayne which was way better for a similar price . Having stayed in Miami before I’d recommend booking a hotel at south beach for more of a prop Miami experience . For those from the UK I’d say the Vagabond was like staying in a hotel on the North Circular Road ! We thought we would try a cocktail at the pool bar . The bar man looked like he just wanted to go home . We were served gin and tonic in a tiny glass so full of ice that there was barely room for the gin and we had one small bottle of tonic between the two of us … about 30 dollars for two ! The lady on reception on our arrival however was really lovely and friendly . I kind of blame myself for choosing badly or maybe the advertising flatters to deceive !

It’s quite far away from most attractions so I would recommend a car. There is not a tonne to do in the area.

There’s supposed to be staff at the desk all day but they often disappear. We saw them having a drink at the bar one time while the office door was closed. They can’t be bothered about noise either - there was a wild party at the pool around 2am our first night there that could be heard across the whole motel but nothing was done about it. There was garbage left all over the tables the next morning and was only picked up later. The bar is cute but you can’t get a frozen drink there. The location is in the middle of town which is great for driving but it’s seedy at night - it’s not the place to walk back from a restaurant at night.

No elevator to second floor and the shower opened right into the room, which is a bit awkward when traveling with friends.

Jose and Luis, hotel managers/ owners were over the top. super engaging and always took time to speak with us.

We had a nice night's stay at Vagabond Hotel. The pool was lovely and pretty big for a motel, they even had a pool bar! The room was also very big and spacious and decorated in a cool retro yet modern style. Fridges are available to rent for 10 dollars per night, we just used an ice bucket instead to cool our wine! The team were friendly and welcoming, overall a nice spot to rest your head!

walls are pretty thin. can hear a lot of noise from people at the bar and in the morning. But other than that everything was great.

The hotel was fabulous. Loved the room, it was huge and the bed/pillows so comfortable. Best sleep of our stay in Florida. The room was perfectly clean, the shower worked brilliantly. Loved the 1950's vibe of the hotel, the pool area was so cool. Extra bonus was the greek restaurant next to the hotel. Fab food and a great suprise.

Though I am writing this a a negative, it actually was a positive too. The hotel is a fair bit away from the action. However, Uber was brilliant and efficient. The positive was that there was no noise and it was quiet. Another little downside is nowhere to really eat, apart from the Greek restaurant without taking our car. After the journey to Miami from St Augustine, we decided to take Uber everywhere. We are from the UK! So a negative with a big positive.

It is a bit misleading as it says Hotel, but it is actually a Motel (where you enter your room directly from outside). This is not at all bad, very convenient, still safe, but is just not correct.

We loved staying here, the hotel itself has so much history but still has all the modern, Art Deco touches one would want from a Miami hotel. The staff is also super helpful, would definitely stay there again!

It is quite far from South Beach or Downtown Miami, so keep that in mind.

Well put together for an older property. Had a funky hip vibe and the pool bar was dreamy. Really enjoyed the pool area. The beds were comfortable and the room was fine, sans some minor issues. Lovely stay overall. No elevators.

The room didn't have hot water in the shower - just luke warm. The bathroom sink has a design flaw that doesn't let water drain properly. You need to swish it around and then it will flow. The AC worked fine. There was a drawer in the room that wouldn't stay shut - a bit annoying.

I loved everything about the hotel. The staff, to include the housekeeping were very friendly and provide excellent cleaning. The rooms were emaculate. The cleanliness was a testament to how efficient and thorough the staff was. I can't see going anywhere else when I'm in Miami.

Nice rooms, good air conditioning and the grandchildren loved the pool.

We struggled with the location as we didn't have a car but that wasn't the fault of the hotel. It would have been nice had the pool bar been open or we could have ordered drinks by the pool. Lots of dead baby frogs in the pool which we had to clear before getting in.

The only thing is location. But this place is so affordable and nice, so it's a small disadvantage.

The room is so big for two people, so its nice. There was no coffee machine in the room. There were even free towels for pool. The shower in the room is so big. I think the room design was awesome! I guess you can enjoy in the pool from dawn to 11 pm. Enough parking space for cars. Close to restaurants. Close to everywhere in Miami by car.

It is a neat retro throw back motel with real room keys. The staff at booth the motel and the attached restaurant were amazing! The room was very large, smelled great and was so clean. The pool area was great! I was traveling with my 11 year old son and felt very safe in the area.

Would have loved a mini fridge tucked away somewhere but otherwise it was Fantastic!

Staying here was wonderful, they really deliver a thought through & tested Guest Experience. Everything you need is there for you. They got many details right that even the luxury 5* places don't. Everything met or exceeded our expectations. They must have the nicest staff in Miami too - Thank you to all

There is one tiny addition we would make to our rooms - a curtain or screen between the sleeping area and bathroom sink. The toilet & shower are of course behind doors though having the bathroom sinks in the room caused disturbance in night for the other & could be an embarrassment changing issue for some

The pool and bar. Also the rooms were nicely decorated. Free parking was essential for our trip and was provided.

The lack of a proper wardrobe meant it felt a bit like a laundry in our room at times.

The size of the room was appreciated. The staff at the front desk could not have been more helpful and kind. Always appreciated. Keep up the good work.

The restaurant next door does not serve breakfast.....so we went to the dinner two blocks down the road. Not a big deal but it would have been nice to have it right here on premises. Please this is only a comment not a complaint.

The pool area was very nice and the bonus was the poolside bar and the Nice 😊 bartender. The people are nicely prepared for their customers. Their knowledge and kindness are the BEST. Thanks Again it’s a FANTASTIC Atmosphere.

The pool area is amazing

The entire property is extremely clean and well maintained. The pool area is gorgeous. Even though it's a "motel" style property, it's very quiet. You cannot hear any outside noise from other rooms or the road. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and spacious. The decor is fun and almost cartoonish. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I loved the added touches of bottled water every day and clean robes. There's also daily housekeeping services, which is uncommon in hotels these days. The location is smack dab in the middle of everything. It's away from the chaos of downtown and Miami beach, but in a central location to all the main attractions of the city. Book here if you want a unique stay.

Unfortunately we didn't get to use the pool bar because it's closed Monday-Wednesday, and that's when we were there. The bed was a little too firm for my personal preference. The humidifier is very loud (thankfully you can just turn it off). Breakfast isn't included.
