The staff of the Red tree House was amazingly welcoming. They took excellent care of us and they encouraged mingling of groups during happy hour and breakfast who became friends. That deepened the experience tremendously. The facility was beautiful and the location excellent.

They ran out of beer on Election Day, when it is not legal to buy more in stores.

The best part of being in Mexico City was coming home to the Red Tree House every evening! The most gorgeous, tranquil setting and space with the kindest staff, you couldn’t ask for more.

Breakfast was exceptional. We liked them all, especially the chilacilas and the enchiladas suizas and the huevos Montelenos. The staff helped us immensely: always helped with directions and tour suggestions and were always pleasant—never seemed impatient or as though we interrupted them in other tasks.

No water for about 12 hours, but that’s a city-wide problem. Happy hour was nice. Would not have minded cocktails, tequila, mezcal, and finger food beyond pretzels.

What a great place! Fantastic location, great people, comfortable accommodation. Free drinks every night, excellent breakfasts. I didn’t always like the Mexican cooked options but it was good to get an opportunity to try them. If they weren’t to our taste there was cereal, bread and fruit. Perfect! We had the three bedroom apartment for our group of 6 and it was ideal. The owners and staff really go the extra mile to make you feel welcome.

The customers are primarily older American couples so for our young adults there wasn’t a lot of commonality but everyone was friendly.

The staff were so amazing. They were kind, helpful and efficient. The house was full of beautiful art and the courtyard where we had the included breakfast and happy hour was gorgeous. The location was perfect. We couldn’t have had a better stay. We will be back and highly recommend the Red Tree House to all.

Absolutely nothing!

This is my favorite place to stay in Mexico City. The staff are wonderful and the setting is peaceful. Love the chance to meet and chat with other guests.

The Treehouse room, which I got at the last minute, is pretty small. Still, I was happy to be there.

The Red Tree House is not just a hotel--it is an experience. Our room was comfortable, quiet and spacious, and the location is excellent. What is unique (and the best part) about the RTH is the complementary happy hour every evening where guests meet and mingle, plus the excellent hot breakfast (different every day) where guests also meet and mingle. In our relatively short stay, we met lots of interesting and lovely people, mostly retirees from the US. The staff was outstanding. Wonderful Mexican artwork everywhere. We have traveled extensively throughout the world (especially in Latin America), the RTH is probably our favorite.

Exceptionally friendly staff — Victor and his team are warm and generous, taking time to get to know visitors and offer help and advice. Breakfast is great, too.

Loved the wonderful open courtyard, where we had breakfast, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the absolutely wonderful neighborhood with all its littles parks and lush greenery.

The staff is very attentive and exceeds expectations about how to make a traveler feel comfortable and included in what is going on.

This is the only place I'll stay in Mexico City. Lovely place, wonderful staff.

We enjoyed the common areas and nightly happy hour that encouraged interacting with other guests. The staff was always available to help with all requests. Small, boutiquey and personal vibe rather than feeling like a hotel. Breakfast was wonderful every morning in the beautiful courtyard with the amazing tree. Alejandro was a wonderful host.

Super friendly staff, really welcoming and makes you feel like home away from home. Home cooked breakfast every morning was fantastic, loved that the dishes change every morning! There’s plenty of lounge area and happy hour is such a lovely idea to meet fellow travellers. Overall, it was our favourite stay in Mexico and loved the home vibe.

The breakfast was lovely and Victor took great pride in introducing the guests to the dishes of Mexico. The location is excellent. I loved all the artwork in the hotel and particularly enjoyed the happy hour, getting to know a few of the other guests.

The Red Tree House is an exceptional boutique hotel. The staff is attentive. Every effort is made to ensure the comfort of the guests. Each day starts with a gourmet breakfast. The relaxed friendly atmosphere and the seating arrangement encourages conversation among the guests.

Hot breakfast options were varied every day and delicious. Would have loved some less sugar-filled yogurt but not a big deal. Staff were all very friendly and super helpful with answering our numerous questions. Happy hour a plus and fun to meet other fellow travelers. Shower water pressure was awesome! Quiet at night and lovely setting. Beautiful art and interior design. Would definitely stay there again.

Great location, walkable to great restaruants and Parque Mexico, Parque Espanol, and the Amsterdam walking ring around the park. Breakfast was delicious, with something different each day. The staff was super friendly and helpful, and Boss the dog and his smaller friend were great hosts, too. My wife loved the selection of books to take back to our room, too.

The Red Tree House is easily one of the nicest places I have ever stayed. The location is brilliant, and the building and the rooms are beautiful. The staff are incredible - there is nothing they won't do to make your stay as comfortable as possible. A special shout out to Victor for making both my daughters feel so welcomed, and to Alejandro for the great restaurant recommendation. We also loved making friends with the two dogs, Romeo and Booz! I loved the hot mexican breakfast each morning, and happy hour each evening. It was great to spend all day sightseeing and then be able to return to such a special place to relax at the end of the day. I miss it already and really hope to stay again one day!

Beautiful, stunning, incredible environment. Architecture, paint colours, layout, artworks, really gorgeous. Private nooks in public spaces were lovely and cozy but there were also plenty of open spaces to facilitate communication with other guests. Rooms were adorable and comfortable. Visually stunning. Amazing calming atmosphere. Woke up to birds flying and singing. Literally angelic. Hotel dogs are absolutely adorable, friendly and very calm and approachable. All smelt and looked clean including dogs. Very pleasant experience. Staff were well mannered, kind, helpful and friendly. Had a long wonderful conversation with German (pronounced Herman) who told us more about the city and what to expect. We were two young women travelling alone so we were nervous to go out at night and he helped ease our expectations by taking us out when he walked the dogs, telling us about the area and encouraging us to explore. We came back and told him about our adventures. The next morning Victor who was so lovely and kind helped us with breakfast and chatted with us. He offered us free breakfast if we returned as we were coming back to the city later in our trip but were booked somewhere else. Both Victor and Herman offered us to come back and put our family pictures on the Ophrenda for day of the dead as well as come back and see more night life with German if we are around when he is. Amazing experience, wish we could’ve booked longer. Also all the rooms have adorable names like Frida and Mariposa, rather than room numbers, so cute! Also we got complimentary wine and pretzels in the evening as well as complimentary breakfast.

One of the pillows on the bed was hard as a rock. Literally that was the only negative this place was amazing.

Had such a nice comfy vibe and very friendly staff and great location! It was nice to come back after walking around the city and have a comfy shared seating area with the fireplace roaring. The breakfast in the morning was better than any other hotel we've stayed in and the staff does their best to invite all the people staying to get to know each other with things like happy hour in the courtyard. Overall, great experience and lovely hotel.

The Red Tree House is a beautiful boutique hotel with some of the friendliest staff you will ever meet. Victor one of the meet and greet staff made us incredibly welcome. The hotel is essentially a Mexican house built around a courtyard. Our room was advertised as a room but in reality was a suite with two bathrooms, a separate living area with sofa chairs and many books to read. We also had an outside area with a patio door directly into the bedroom. This hotel serves great home cooked Mexican breakfast which is as Mexican as you can get. In the evening they serve free drinks for two hours from 6pm to 8pm in the courtyard which encourages guests to interact and get to know each other. This hotel is for those types who really value good food, good company and colourful traditional Mexican surroundings. Red Tree is the opposite from corporate culture and would appeal to people who enjoy investigating the real culture of a community. If you are looking for swimming pools and corporate bars this is not for you. If you are looking for beautiful, colourful Mexican art and cooking this very small but delightful hotel is definitely for you!
