Beautiful, stylish and convenient hotel, staff is excelent, I travel all around the world a lot, but this hotel service was one of the best I ever received. When coming to Madrid again - I am not even concidering another hotel, will come back only here!

A Memorable Birthday Stay at The Principal Madrid I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Principal Madrid from January 3rd to 6th for my birthday celebration with my spouse. The experience was nothing short of delightful, and I couldn't have asked for a better way to mark my special day. From the moment we checked in, the hotel staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional. As a thoughtful gesture for my birthday, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that our room had been upgraded. To add to the celebration, a chilled bottle of Cava awaited us in an ice-filled bucket, creating the perfect atmosphere for a festive start. The surprises didn't end there – the room was adorned with Artisan chocolates, a thoughtful gift that added a sweet touch to our stay. Additionally, the hotel generously gifted me a massage experience, allowing for some much-needed relaxation and pampering on my birthday. On the morning of my birthday, the hotel continued to shower us with kindness. A delicious cake was delivered to our room for breakfast, accompanied by a candle to mark the occasion. The staff even took the time to join in and sing while I made a wish and blew out the candle, making the moment truly special. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Jose Carlos at the hotel reception, whose exceptional service greatly contributed to the overall positive experience during my stay at The Principal Madrid. His good energy, politeness, and evident competence in his role truly stood out. Mr. Jose Carlos went above and beyond to make our check-in seamless and welcoming, setting a positive tone for the rest of our stay. His professionalism and friendly demeanor made us feel genuinely valued as guests. The hotel's central location proved to be incredibly convenient, allowing us easy access to various attractions and landmarks in Madrid. The breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful hotel in a great location - the beginning of the Grand Via, so the neighborhood was quiet and practically everything was a walking distance. The room was specious, clean and bright and had a nice view to the street. The staff were very polite and extremely helpful - especially the doormen Ricco & Juan. The Rooftop Terrace was lovely and inviting despite the cold, with a great view of the city. Would love to see it in the summertime.

I suffer from a bad back condition which made it difficult to enjoy the extremely soft bed. My partner, on the other hand, loved it and said it was like sleeping on a cloud.

Reception workers need to learn how to behave better with guests, my experience with the workers of the reseption during check-in and chekout is not good, they share false information and are rude with guests which is not something to expect from a 5 star hotel

Fantastic location. We walked everywhere! Beautifully appointed rooms. I like staying at a mid-sized hotel with local charm when I am traveling in European cities and the Principal was perfect.

The waiter in the Atico Michellin Star restaurant is not so clear in communicating with guests. I ordered a dessert and he said ifs not possible but if arrived. And the waiters moves very roughly that disturbs us while dining. In other words they should move quietly as not to destroy the ambiance because they are Michellin Star and 5 star hotel. In this area they should improve.

It was perfectly located, staffed by exceptionally friendly professional people , front desk concierge, breakfast team and team in Attico take a bow, must also mention housekeeping ladies friendly but super efficient. Hotel very luxurious but welcoming with great colours and furniture. Roof terraces are absolutely the best!

No one in restaurant when we ate at night. So very quiet. Difficulty with Google maps trying to find it. But location proved perfect.

The location was terrific and the building was nicely appointed. We didn’t eat at the hotel, so I can’t speak to the food. The concierge was helpful in securing museum tickets.

The room was really tight for two women with multiple suitcases.

In general it was a very good experience. First they put us in a room where there was a strong sewer smell. The next day I made a complaint to the reception and they moved us to an awesome suit with a view. The Hotel is located at the Gran via which one of the downtowns of Madrid I think. Great location, and great staff. Highly recommended.

Breakfast was lovely and the hotel was in a great spot for wandering around Madrid. We had dinner there one night which was exceptional.

The gym was OK but a treadmill would have made it ideal. The roof top terrace was slow in terms of service.

Centrally located, just off Gran Via, but quite enough to have a restful night. The rooms are rather small, but the bed was huuuge! Never seen such a big bed in a hotel (especially compared to the overall size of the room). Bathroom was really nice - well kept, good selection of toiletries. Breakfast was nice - wide range of food options (incl. ordering from a separate menu things like avocado toasts)

We could have some more fresh vegetables for breakfast - there were only tomatoes.

Grear location, nice roof terrance

The entire stay in the hotel was absolutely fabulous. Right from our arrival in the morning on Monday our room was ready at 10:00 A.M. instead of the usual 3 P.M. The hotel staff was extremely polite and helpful. Front desk representative Jose Xian was especially helpful with answering our multiple questions and giving valuable suggestions about our daily trips. The restaurant representatives Itxaso and Louis provided excellent service and experience during our daily breakfasts and the food was fabulous as well. The location of the hotel is very convenient and is within a 10-minute walk to the old city center. Overall, definitely 5 star experience and we would recommend the Principal Madrid Hotel to everyone!

The hotel was perfectly located and everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. We were upgraded to a superior room, which was very comfortable and the bathroom was lovely. Everything was spotlessly clean and the room was made up perfectly every day after we left. The addition of a bottle of Cava, water and chocolates were a nice touch. Reception and concierge staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The rooftop bar was very nice and the cocktails delicious.

The restaurant, although it looked lovely, was a bit disappointing. We only took breakfast there, and I'm glad we didn't take dinner. The service was rather disappointing. On the three mornings we were there, our breakfast orders arrived incorrectly with things either missing or completely wrong. We waited an age for a cup of coffee, too. Staff were apologetic and polite, but the standard was below expectations for such an expensive hotel.

We could not regulate the temp in our room. There was no way to have breakfast at the hotel Ala Cart. at the end of our day we would have like to turn on the TV and relax but only one news channel was available in English.

The staff were simply amazing, they solved problems and went above and beyond what I expected. As a former Hotel executive I know what excellence is like. This place nailed it. And yes, I will be back.

The only real challenge in this hotel is the size of the rooms so go for the executive rooms and you will be glad that you did. As someone who wears glasses (not in the shower) it is always difficult to tell the gel from the shampoo from the conditioner as they are all in identical bottles. Figure out a better labelling system with massive letters of something.
