The location is incredible — literally just a minute away from the Walk of Fame! There’s also a store nearby and easy access to public transportation, which is super convenient. (Pro tip: you're just one metro stop away from Universal Studios if you're heading there! 😎) The villa itself is lovely. The rooms are simple, as are the shared spaces, and the staff puts in real effort to keep everything clean. What really surprised me in a good way: the hostel is very calm and quiet, with guests of all ages. There were no parties or loud situations — just a chill vibe. You might bump into fellow travelers in the hallway or shared kitchen during the day. They also have a charming little garden with a table and chairs where you can enjoy a meal or chat with someone new. Overall, a great experience!

The location. It's unbelievably close to Hollywood Boulevard and yet it feels like an oasis away from its hustle and bustle!! A 3 minute walk from Madame Tussaud's. Target, Marshall's, Ralph's, and Subway are also close-by. The room was tidy, and the shared bathrooms were cleaned on a daily basis. Loved the fact that it's an ancient building. They have preserved some of its features, such as the lighting, the sinks in the bathroom , and a phone, which imparts a quaint and old-fashioned charm to it. The staff are very helpful and some of them speak several languages. They found a solution for me as I was supposed to have a late check-in, which is much appreciated. I could also do my laundry, which was very convenient. I definitely recommend this hotel.

It would have been good to be able to control the air con from my room. I would also recommend adding blackout curtains to some of the windows, as the lights streams in and makes it difficult to get to sleep.

Very clean and well maintained house. Clean bed sheets and towel were provided upon arrival. Staff were super helpful and friendly. If you have a late flight, you can ask them to lock up your luggages after checking out and come back later. The restrooms are clean and super cute/mini sized (might be a bit small for those with larger built) and there are plenty throughout the floors - you never have to worry about waiting for others.

There were drilling sounds during day time, but it doesn’t matter if you’re not planning to stay inside all day.

Cool, historical property that is in a great location. Walkable to sights in Hollywood and transportation. Target close by for all the essentials.

Super well priced room in the heart of Hollywood with a comfy bed, friendly staff, and in a really nice building. Felt secure and had good privacy in the private room.

The rooms are very basic (just a bed and shower, as advertised), and the Wifi too slow to do anything work or streaming related, but that's what you pay for! Absolutely fine for what it was. The area itself is a bit grimy, but that's not the fault of the hotel, and true of much of LA.

Beautiful unique building, with nice staff, perfect kitchen and plenty of bathrooms. As usual, in hostels you have to be in luck with you roommates, but that is not up to the hostel.

Very clean, plenty of bathrooms, sturdy wooden bunk beds, spacious dorm, comfy bed, even had a big backyard. Location was quiet, safe, convenient, only a from Hollywood Blvd.

It was just what I wanted: quiet, relaxed, friendly, clean. And super convenient for where I wanted to go. The staff was the absolute best.

Location perfect, nice staff and room

I arrived much later than I expected, the journey from airport was easy enough to follow with a Metro Train map. 3 trains, 2 buses & step down less than a block from Orange Drive. Walk down Orange to a beautiful white mansion & green trees. I was warmly greeted, quickly checked in & escorted to the room. I had chosen the women's dorm, as I was traveling alone & enjoy meeting people from all over the world. The owners had even reserved a lower bunk for me, for which I had put in a special request! Bed was very comfortable & in daylight revealed a charming room. Only 3 bunks in this room(nice!)with 2 large windows (w/curtains) & a chair by each bunk, outlets for charging. One thing I would like is a lamp for each bed, as it was difficult to get ready in the dark & not disturb other guests. Room was next to WC (convenient) also 2 WC on that floor plus a shower room & at least 2 more WC + shower either up or down the stairs. It was fun to explore the house, which is somewhat like a maze with all the stairways up & down; that's the way large homes were built in 1910. It's beautiful & still retains much original history. Kitchen on lowest floor is adequate, but plenty of refrigerator/freezers, dishware, a sofa and chairs for relaxing. A brick patio area is in the backyard with umbrella tables & chairs. Front yard is beautiful with trees & green grass. Both interior & exterior are very well maintained to a level which is rarely seen in most hostel homes. The house is one block from Hollywood Boulevard & takes you to the Chinese Theatre & all the stars on the sidewalk if you haven't seen that. Target & CVS are in that area (+ MANY souvenir places) Catching the bus/train near the house will take you pretty much anywhere you want in the LA area, including the beach. Every staff I met were pleasant & helpful. They will hold your luggage before & after check-in.

It's not what I didn't like, but what I would have liked. A directional lamp by each bed in the dorms (each mattress area) A comfortable gathering space with sofas & chairs for relaxing & conversation. Not that anyone is there during the day, but especially if you're in one of the dorms but it would be nice if the was a spot to go other than the "bedroom." There's mention of group activities, but there's not a promotion of such events. It would be fun to promote something like a pub crawl or a visit to one of the West Hollywood fun spots or a cocktail sunset by the beach, even though they may cost extra. Again, it's a chance to meet other guests from all over the world. It's by getting to each other, learn about their culture & expand your horizons which brings acceptance of all people around the globe. Not sure if there's an historical guide available or something posted like pictures on the wall, detailing the history of the house, but that would be interesting (and if it's known for what each area was originally designed, I at least, would find that fascinating.) I stayed in one historical home B & B which hosted a late evening gathering with crackers, cookies, plus carafes of red & white wine. Many of the guests joined in since it was well after the dinner hour, but before bedtime & again, had a chance to meet the other guests. This might be "too much" for a designated hostel, it's just the atmosphere of the surroundings reminded me of that. I honestly can't think of anything truly negative. This is not a 4 or 5 star hotel, but if you are accustomed to hostel stays, it's truly several steps above. It is NOT run down & shabby for an old house. It looks clean and IS clean with NO hint of bug problems, smells or excessive noise. Loud disturbances LATE at night are addressed by the staff.

Everything was reallly clean and taken care of. Quiet and cozy place. Location is excellent in walking distance from Hollywood boulevard. Also a really good Thai restaurant nearby (found it thanks to a tip from the hostel staff) “Pink Pepper”. Place was easy to reach from the highway. On the way out we stopped at the view point Hollywood bowl, also worth to stop.

I like the vintage style of this house. It was fun to tour around the house. Each bedroom has its key. I stayed in a shared room. Hangers are provided in the room. The toilets and bathrooms are clean. The staff is friendly.

The beds are first come first served. I stayed in the lower bed. I was a little concerned about whether the railing on the upper bed was high enough to prevent people from falling out.

My Roommates were from Yuba City and Seattle Washington are .2 of us went to See Live with Kelly and Mark after Oscars show Monday morning at The Dolby theater. Kelly Ripa was absolute stunning Mark was just Handsome And Kelly was absolute beautiful

Location was great, next to Magic castle and Dolby Theatre, and not too far from shopping Beverly Hills or entertainment options in West Hollywood.

Liked a lot of things. The only thing is maybe because the home is a bit older the floors creak when walking sometimes, trying to be considerate of roommates sleeping.

Great location, close to the subway and major tourist spots. The room was clean, and the place had a nice atmosphere. Check-in and check-out were smooth. Also, the receptionist on our first day was very kind.

On our last day, one of the women at the front desk was not very friendly. I also noticed that she did not respond well to some guests checking in

Amazing location, cute old house turned into a quite hostel which generally has everything you need. Staff were friendly and helpful. I could store my bag securely all day and was allowed to freshen up when I returned to collect them which is nice. The kitchenette is small but looks to have most things you’d need (I only used it for tea/coffee). I stayed in a private room which was neat and tidy with its own bathroom/shower, sheets and towels.

I would recommend darker curtains in the private room as you can see the city lights at night through the sheer curtains and the sun beams through at first light. If you’re a light sleeper like me this makes it hard to sleep. The room was right next to a shared toilet which was quite noisy through the night with guests using it (mostly the door) - I guess there isn’t much they can do about this but it’s not great for light sleepers.

An affordable chance to stay at a beautiful historic building in the heart of Hollywood. Staff were very kind, and the location is perfect (Hollywood/Highland metro just around the block). The hostel is quiet and has very calming peaceful vibes.

It's comfortable and cozy. The location is perfect a one-minute walk from the Walk of Fame. The kitchen is organized and the bathrooms are clean. We like the vibe of the hostel, it's vintage but well-looked after.

It's not a problem, but parking costs 10 dollars. It's fair, as stopping on the street is very difficult there.

This is a really well located, cosy hostel. Great kitchen facilities to prepare your own food.

Our room was on the top floor. It wasn’t really an option to take two large suitcases up the two flights of stairs and open them in a small room. The staff were extremely accommodating and allowed us to unpack the things we needed for our stay and store the suitcases in a locked room. This was most helpful. A very small inconvenience but didn’t dampen our stay.

Great location! We walked Hollywood Blvd and got all excited and had great Margarita:-) Clean rooms. Nice outdoor table and chairs with cute front yard with lights.

Rooms and bathrooms were very clean, the only thing is there was a towel in common bathroom. It'll b nice if there was paper towel instead of towel ... Extra comforter in closet needs to be cleaned. As soon as I opened, I started sneezing I am allergic to dust.

Great location, just around the corner of Chinese theatre, a metro station and a shopping centre. We chose this hotel because we wanted to visit Universal Studios Hollywood, it could not have been a better choice, just one train station away. Plenty of commerce around. Very useful that we could store our bags after checking out, the hotel staff was very kind.

The location of the hostel is top notch and our room was cozy and very clean. The kitchen as well is clean an well equipped. The staff is very friendly and helpful, even as we had to evacuate due to the wildfires.

The bed wasn’t super comfortable and the bathrooms quite tiny, but it’s all right for a short stay.

The room was lovely and had lots of character. Bed was comfy and cozy. I selected a room with a private bathroom so my stay was essentially indistinguishable from a traditional hotel stay. The property itself is a fascinating old house dripping with old world charm. Wandering the halls is like taking a step back in time.

The only (very minor) issue I experienced was that my room had a dehumidifier in it that was running continuously and it made the air very dry. I'm coming from the midwest and was already not used to the dry climate in CA. Not a fault of the management at all - I'm sure the dehumidifier is there for a reason. I ended up turning off the dehumidifier once I realized how dry it was... but just something to keep in mind and to notice if you are coming from a more humid climate.

I had a wonderful experience at this location! The staff were exceptionally friendly, making me feel welcome. The room was clean and well-presented, which added to my comfort. Additionally, the toilets were well-maintained and accessible for all users.

The wooden walkway makes me uncomfortable during morning activities, as some guests are still sleeping. Otherwise, everything else has been superb.

Proximity to Hollywood. Cleanliness.

We've been to this place several times and we can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. We live to visit the L.A. area. In fact, we come back every year for 2-3 weeks. Everytime, and since 2020, we stay at the Orange Drive Hostel. It almost feels like home as we feel safe and in very good hands. The staff is very attentive and supportive. The rooms are clean and in good shape. The hostel is located in a side street right in the heart of Hollywood. Easy access to public transport, tourist attractions, restaurants and the very popular In N' Out Burger, etc. It's only a 2 minute walk to Hollywood Blvd attractions and a 5 minute walk to Sunset Blvd.

Everything my 5th stay and I have another one booked

Great place with a rich history! Our room was pretty small but the beds were comfortable. There was one table and a chair, but we lacked some other space to leave or hang our things. The hotel had good wifi and a washing machine for $6 per wash. It was quiet despite its location just next to the Walk of Fame. I was a bit worried about the shared bathroom on the floor, but it was cleaned every day and I never had any issues with cleanliness. Other guests also left it in good condition.

Some more storage space in the room would be great. Also, a small kettle or coffee machine to boil some water in the room could be a great improvement!
