Marabi Club downstairs is brilliant, Rooftop bar at the top also cool. Dodgy location but fine when you’re inside and you can easily get Ubers around to Maboneng etc.

Great friendly hotel. Spacious comfortable room. Lovely vegan breakfast.

The location does mean you need to take a taxi for every trip even short distances.

Well-decorated rooms with ample light and air-conditioned to suit any comfort level. Neat and well-cleaned spacious rooms. Perfect for a night out in Joburg.

Parking is tight. One needs special parking skills to manoeuvre the parking bays.

The lobby looks lively

Once you go past the lobby the mood changes and it’s not pleasing if you alone, there’s no ramp and of course I wouldn’t like to use wheel chair bound people lift . But would have helped for my bags but going up the stairs is not fun, also there aren’t enough signs once you head to your room everywhere looks the same so it’s like you in a maze .

We enjoyed our stay. Spacious and urban style room. The roof top terrace was something to experience. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The hotel is beautiful. Our room was comfortable and spacious. The restaurants were good and reasonably priced. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I booked the hotel because of the rooftop café/bar and the Jazz Club in oder to have the possibility to listen to some music without going out at night. However, it was not described anywhere in the hotel description that kids could not enter these facilities at all - not even from 7pm-9pm and accompanied by their parents. And so we were in a quite rough location (neighbourhood) and still had to move in the evenings. Real pity... Showers were (really) cold during the whole stay...

beautiful big room, with a balcony and nice bathroom. The local restaurants at the location were impeccable and the both the building and its inhabitants exude artsy jozi realness, luxury and coolness.

We were disappointed that there was no room service available and that our room was so loud with the traffic outside, even with windows closed. The TV turned on randomly by itself twice during the night, so our sleep was very disturbed. The staff were nice, although they could be more focused/ attentive to customers and not speak amongst themselves as customers are checking in.

There was a bit of construction at the time

The hotel has both a roof top bar and a restaurant with live jazz music. The room was spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Free water and kettle with various teas and coffee. wifi was good throughout the building.

The music in the roof top bar was deafening - a small space but with massive speakers. I did not have hot water in the shower and six times during the night the TV came on - by the 6th time I unplugged the TV. This may be related to load shedding but it was very annoying. Also my room was very cold and the airco was set to 30 but it did not really warm up the place and the little convector heater did not either. The restaurant was nice but its veggie options were limited. I did not like that breakfast was a choice of 4 set menus: I prefer to select my own food and again there was only 1 veggie option : a bowl of fruit and yoghurt. I know the hotel was designed by a famous person but it was too industrial and dark for my liking. It was for instance hard to find the door to the elevators as the whole wall was black.

the property was nice and cozy. the temperature of the room was amazing. they had security opening the door for you which was amazing. The receptionists responded on time.

the view I had was bad. I suggest people know about their view or rather they recommend the best view. when you order room service you have to go downstairs to get food yourself.

Nice view from rooftop bar and the balcony. Nice artworks in the lobby and in the floors. I like the approach of the hotel and the idea of a lighthouse in this area. The breakfast is tasty and freshly cooked for each guest individually. Most of the staff is very friendly.

In my opinion, exept for Maboneng which is 800 m away, the area was scary. To get somewhere (even to Maboneng) one should better take an uber. Walking somewhere is not recommended especially when it's dark. In the evening it was a bit loud in my room because the windows are not insulated against noise. The carpets and furniture in my room had stains and could have been in a better condition. You have to wait quite a bit until food and drinks are served, even for breakfast.

smalls little niggles , the lights glow after being turned off, hot water was a bit of a challenge. the band playing at 8 in the morning , and also people smoking smell coming into the room. oh and the tv turned its self on at 4 in the morning.

Love the view from Rooftop. The rooms has various kinds of glasses, great for content. The rooms were clean. The kids enjoyed the french toast, smokey barbecue chicken wings and the breakfast bun an chicken burger at Thorn. I enjoyed the ribeye steak. I enjoyed the Marabi Club, he food the whole team, they were really kind and good to us and they put extra effort to make sure my birthday was special. I wanted to see the city, the hotel is right gave excellent access and we didn’t have to drive or walk too far to get to the places we wanted to see. I enjoyed the aMapiano dance class at the Bontle Modiselle studios.

I had a High expectation to find branded gowns and slippers in the room as per website and other content creators☺ But I was fortunately lended a gown when I requested from reception.
