Casa Di Bava, Istanbul

The building manager was incredible helpful to us. We switched rooms when we realized our booking was too small, and he was incredibly accommodating. He even helped us get our bag back after we had left it there post-check out! I would absolutely stay here again.

The code that was provided to enter the apartment did not work. But the communication was very smooth on whatsapp and the team was able to resolve the issue quickly.

The sleeping experience was wonderful, especially with the jetlag, contributing to my overall sense of relaxation and comfort. Manager Tammam was exceptional—hospitable, generous, and kind. Each morning, he offered freshly brewed coffee and engaged in friendly conversation, providing valuable directions and tips for navigating the city as a first-time visitor. His warmth and attentiveness made my stay feel like a home away from home. The room also had a wonderful kitchenette that made the experience even better by inviting friends over for dinner and enjoying the city's delicious leftovers together.

Overall, my experience at the hotel was enjoyable, save for a minor hiccup with the Wi-Fi connection. Although it didn't match the reliability of my home router, Manager Tammam's assistance in connecting my laptop made a significant difference. His support was greatly appreciated.

What truly stood out was the exceptional hospitality—they accommodated my early check-in and late check-out to align with my flights, and even surprised me with a thoughtful birthday present! What an incredibly warm and welcoming staff who go of their way to assist. The location couple with the ambience of this hotel make it an excellent choice in Istanbul.

We stayed at the penthouse which is on the 5th floor. The elevator takes you up to 4th floor and then you need to take the stairs. I was traveling with my old mom and was a bit worried about this situation but things went well. The Istiklal street is 5 minutes away by walk and the slope is not bad at all. The location of this apartment is exceptional with all the cafes/restaurant and Istiklal/Taksim being few minutes away from you. The host was great and responsive all the time. I've had the best time staying in this apartment and would definitely go back again!

Everything was excellent

We stayed several times in this hotel over the past years and we find this a very comfortable place to stay in this part of Istanbul. The apartment has all facilities needed to provide for independent living (washing, cooking, working). Daily cleaning makes this hotel combine the best of apartment-hotel living.

The area can be noisy during the night, which if you prefer to sleep with open windows might keep lighter sleepers awake at night.

It's a bit confusing if you choose apartment with oven or no. Maybe more more regular check on curtains for cleanliness and one of the doors in the kitchen area was not closing fully. Just small details and nice to have.

Unfortunately, the room we have booked in the beginning was located on the ground floor and had no windows in the bedroom (this was not mentioned on the website). However, when we asked for an upgrade - the staff provided us with a better option for an extra payment.

Apartment was very clean. Pleasantly surprised that they offer a daily cleaning service. We arrived late in the evening and they offered a self-check in which was helpful. Very efficient and professional team.

It's been a while since we've stayed at Casa di Bava, but it's still wonderful. They've changed the door to codes rather than provide a key, which we found very convenient (though the unlock mechanism was a bit finicky). The room was very spacious, clean, comfortable, and well-lit. The washing machine and heated drying rack were a life-saver. Best of all, they kindly allowed us to bring our cat, and the cleaning staff were very nice and accommodating. The location is great! It's very walkable to a lot of our favorite restaurants and coffee places, though not as convenient for public transit.

Not much of anything! It's not really on the hotel, but it was very warm in our room, and since it was late November/early December, we couldn't turn on the air conditioner. We made do by cracking open the window, but had to prop it up with a bag. Also not a big deal, but the wifi now requires you to sign after connecting, which meant we couldn't use our Chromecast; it was more reliable than previous stays, though!

The apartment is on a very picturesque street full of antique shops, close to a shopping street but away from rumorous bars. The bed and pillows are super comfortable! The kitchen had all the necessary amenities for cooking, and the apartment was cleaned on daily basis

A microwave in the kitchen would be very useful! Smell of cigarette smoke in the common areas (stairs and entrance)

Great location. many food places and funky little shops nearby. It is a clubbing area but surprisingly it wasn't noisy inside and we could rest at night. Housekeeping daily and change of towels. Very comfy beds. Washing machine was also very usefull. Will stay there again next time.

A lovely place to stay, in a great location.

I have stayed it this property on three previous occasions. It is in a great location and atmospheric neighbourhood close to coffee shops, restaurants. Istiklal and the metro are only a short walk away. The team that run the property are very helpful and responsive. They arranged a taxi for us to the airport and stored our bags securely for us when we checked out. The apartment has an open kitchen in the lounge and a separate bedroom and bathroom with a large walk in shower (no bath). We will definately stay here again.

As usual we enjoyed our stay and were very happy with the facilties. The only minor glitch was when we first arrived. I hadn't been told that the secure key system had changed. Now visitors don't use keys but enter a secure code into a key pad to access each apartment. So upon arrival we were trying (as per previous stays) to use the code provided to open the key box in the hallway when in fact the code was for the keypad to access the apartment. These things happen :0)

Be Mate Casa Di Bava is a an entire building managed by a Spanish hotel chain. We booked partly due to location (downtown Istanbul in the better part of the downtown) and partly due to my previous experience with Room Mate (parent company of Be Mate). The location is walking distance to the best bars, restaurants and shops of Istanbul, however, tricky to reach by car - it tends to get busy in rush hours and one can spend considerable time in traffic. The hosts did share check-in information in advance, and when we checked in, all the apartments (we booked 2) were ready for us. The flat was clean, well-equipped and featured fully stocked kitchen (incl. dishwasher with tablets and washing machine with some stock of washing pads) as well as fully stocked bathroom (incl. hair dryer). There was daily cleaning and replenishment in the apartment. The hosts were always available for assistance, and we felt absolutely confident that if there was an issue, it would be solved rapidly. All in all, it was a very good experience and we would recommend staying at Be Mate to our friends.

The check-in process was a little disturbed due to malfunction of one of the doors - we had to reach out to support via WhatsApp (which worked perfectly btw) and get the access code to the key storage on ground floor to get the physical keys. I suggest that if you stay in apt. 5, you do get the access code for the key storage as soon as you get check-in info. WiFi could have been better - could be function of location of the router - thus, pick this apartment for a holiday stay and not when you have to work remotely. Soundproof isn't ideal - Istanbul is unreasonably noisy, and you do hear it.

The view is amazing, the host is very welcoming, clean, airy flat. Loved it.

The bedroom in the back faces the street so it was a bit loud. The other bedroom was fine though

This was a very comfortable and spacious suite in the middle of the Galata area. It was very easy to walk to Galata port and many excellent cafes and restaurants. The washing machine and dish washer were very useful after long days of traveling around. The balcony was nice to sit on and people watch.

It was a little noisy at night as it is right next to a complicated intersection at which cars often have to back up, which occasionally led to honking and yelling. Also, there is a popular bar at the top of the road so while we didn't hear music we heard a lot of yelling late at night, though it didn't disturb our sleep. Also, we received some towels which were not clean and fresh.

This was our third time staying in this apartment. It is a wonderful place - very clean and comfortable, also conveniently located to Taksim, Galata and Cihangir neighborhoods. Hosts are amazing as well!

This is truly a wonderful stay in Istanbul. The apartment (we had one with balcony ) is exactly as described and the pictures are as it is. The host is very friendly and helpful . As for the neighbourhood buzzy authentic quartier with lots of good food places . For us it was perfect .

Great location in a beautiful building in a great area with lots of restaurants around, 5 minutes walk to a couple of small supermarkets and 10 minutes to the tram stop.Bigger than it looked in photos. Bed was really comfortable.

We did not meet the hosts as we checked in after reception hours and did not receive check-in details until late in the morning of our arrival. Kitchen facilities were lacking it would have been difficult to cook anything (but lots of restaurants around so no need.) Apartment was at the top of a very steep hill, not a problem for us but people with mobility issues would need to be aware,

- Amazing location! 5 minute walk from Istiklal Street, 10 minutes to the Galataport and Karaköy. Surrounded by lots of great breakfast and coffee spots, art galleries and other shops. - We booked the penthouse which had a huge balcony with views over the entire city. The balcony was one of the main reason we booked this apartment and it surely did not disappoint. - Housekeeping staff is very friendly. Normally when you book an apartment you will not get housekeeping service but at Be Mate Casa di Bava you do! - Communication with the accommodation was very smooth and quick via WhatsApp. Nothing was too much asked. They booked us reservations at restaurants, airport transfer, helped with later check-out, room requests and more. All in a very friendly way!

The only thing would be the water pressure of the shower which was a bit low, also the water took a long time to get warmed up. Lastly, if you’re not used to city sounds you might be bothered by the noises outside but that’s not specific to this accommodation but the entire neighborhood.

Staff was outstanding, the neighbourhood is very pleasant, location is close to main attractions, restaurants.

If you are a light sleeper keep in mind that the building is on one of the few streets (the only one?) that crosses Istiklal which means the honking, deafening car music will only cool down around 5:00 on Saturdays. But if you are party people I guess that's not an issue.

The staff and concierge was excellent - really helpful in arranging our very early/late transfers to and fro the airport. The apartments contained everything you needed!

It was a slight distance from some of Istanbul's main attractions but it is in a lovely area and it should not deter you from staying here.

Interior is nice, super comfortable bad, enough space, hot water in the shower is good, washing machine is super convinient, service is perfect, communication with the staff is amazing. Location is the beast) We stay here each time when we arrive at Istanbul and like it.

Internet quality. WhatsApp and Telegram don't work correctly sometimes and it's weak connection in the kitchen. And would be nice to have some paper napkins or kitchen towel because if you use kitchen and wash dish it's inconvinient to dry hands.

Superb location – walking distance from pretty much everything. Probably the best (by far) area in Instanbul. Dozens of fabulous spots for any occasion around within 5 min walk. Very spacious and clean rooms. Exceptional value for money. The property management folks are extremely helpful and provided easy to follow instruction. This is probably the best option around for its money, totally recommended.

The building is fairly old, and although rooms and interiors are renovated, the humidity and other side-effects of leaving in a piece of history are in place, too – nothing to be worried about, but it may be noticeable during the evening time. Our unit might have needed some extra love to get to clean 10/10 grade – there were minor scratches here and there, the AC is a bit rusty too. Curtains and shelves were a bit dusty. Wi-Fi wasn't that good too, tbh. But all these things are very minor and don't impact the experience.

Always great staying at this property, very central and hosts are very helpful. All the major attractions are minutes away. This property is super comfy.

If I could give 20 points, I would give them. Absolutely amazing apartment! 5 min to Istiklal (walking street), 5 min to tram-bus which goes to Saint Sofia and the rest main attractions. All the nightlife and day-needs are very close to the apt, but here is quite and comfortable. Inside the apt - very stylish and high-quality. Bed, shower, towels, furniture, kitchen - everything is just perfect. And last, but the least, an amazing host - Tammam! Very professional, welcoming and nice. I definitely going to stay here again!
