Mahona Boutique Hotel, Las Terrenas

We had an excellent stay here. The included breakfast is extraordinarily large and tasty. Our room was not large, but it was clean and comfortable. The manager was not just friendly but she also helped us arrange an excursion to Los Haitesis Park and a massage, both on short notice. We could walk in about 10 minutes to good restaurants in central Las Terrenas.

We really had no complaints.

We just got engaged and we were searching for a short quiet romantic getaway and we got everything that we wanted in this hotel. The interior, the garden, dining space, birds, huge plants- everything felt like a dream! It was the thrill and rest all in one.

Most beautiful tranquil boutique hotel. Only a few rooms which was divine so never felt busy. Breakfasts were great.

Nothing not to like. Just a note that they do not take card payment so payment for the rooms is cash only in local currency, USD or Euro.

Breakfast was amazing, multiple courses every one of which tasted amazing. The service staff were friendly making for a very enjoyable stay.

The shower temperature constantly swung all over the place from too hot to too cold.

The hotel is a little oasis in the middle of Las Terrenas! It’s beautiful inside and the rooms are very comfortable.

It’s insane that in 2024 there are places that don’t accept credit card. Be careful because that happens all over Las Terrenas, not just in the hotel.

Don’t know what to say, lovely place to be

I loved everything about the hotel. We had the 2 bedroom villa with a private pool. It was large and nicely decorated, but above all, it was spotless. I loved the location because it was a bit secluded, but a short walk to the beach and restaurants. My favorite part was the breakfast. It was delicious and so nicely served. I truly felt like I was in France.

Lovely place with a lot of charm, very nice room. Great location, very close to the town center and the beach, and yet the hotel is very quiet and peaceful. Amazing breakfast! Definitely recommend!

Warm welcome from the owners. Stayed as a couple. We got the break we needed. Clean rooms, safe, great location (lots to do), 2 min walk to beach. Great assistance, we had issue with our car and the owner took the time to help us. Nice healthy breakfast provided with a bonus of freshly baked bread.

We like everything, but would like that you take care the electricity issue.

Hotel was very clean and very private and relaxing. Location was excellent.

Facilities and Location

This place is beautiful little oasis on its own. Bar serves delicious cocktails and delicious breakfast. Services was superb.

It's not a deal killer, but they only accept cash.

Peaceful and tranquil which is quite remarkable given it is a very short walk from a very loud town. Excellent breakfast. Nice pool area. Comfortable bed. Nice bathroom. Very nice aesthetic overall. Very pleasant staff. Big room.

Lots of mosquitos in the room. Quite expensive. Given the cost, it is difficult that they don't accept cards, even though we only stayed 2 nights.

The included breakfast was delicious - crepe, coffee, fruit salad, croissants and French bread plus eggs cooked to order. It was so filling, fresh and tasty.

There was nothing that needed improvement. Everyone was friendly and helpful and we loved staying there.

Amazing place! We were in love of everything, the rooms, the space, the deco, the pool, the plants.. everything is just lovely and Magali, the admin, is the best, really happy with her management skills and closeness. Also, the breakfast and the lady that prepare everything are the best! For sure we will come back. We actually change our plans to stay more

The beauty of the place

The grounds are beautiful and intimate as we abstain from resorts at all costs! The croissants were delicious. The property was a short walk to places to eat along with several beaches. Merci!

The tropical setting was beautiful and the sweet Carribean style beach bungalows opened to the quiet pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast were delicious and delightful with opportunity for meeting other guests. Laid back, relaxed vibe with attentive staff including a gardener who was one with nature.

The location was a little further from the beach than we expected.

Mahona is a beautiful B&B and the owners take great pride in creating an experience for the guest, it is very obvious that you are welcomed in this place, loved our stay there and would do it again in the future.

We wish check out was a bit later then 11:00am that additional 1-2 hours in most lodging places helps for you not to feel rushed. We literally finished breakfast and had to pack, nevertheless they were accommodating if we needed to stay on premises before departing, we were allowed to stay in the public areas.

Breakfast was wonderful. All staff were incredibly polite, caring, and helpful.

This French boutique hotel is so pretty! Rooms are nicely decorated and so is the room where delicious breakfast is served every morning. Location is very good, less than 1 km away from the center Las Terrenas and just a few blocks away from beautiful Playa Las Ballenas. Magali and Pascal are also super welcoming and warm, it was wonderful to meet them! The girls from the staff are wonderful and extremely willing to assist in everything you need. Breakfasts are great, too! I would definitely go back. Thank you, Magali for being so understanding when I needed to figure the payment method. Best regards.

This hotel is a haven of peace and quiet, a place to retreat from the hustle of the nearby tourism and commercial areas in Las Terrenas.

Replacing bottles of drinking water in the room daily would be ideal.

I been coming to Las terrenas for a while and never knew about this place now I know where I'm staying next time

The road getting to the place is a little bit small and I was driving a big suv

My boyfriend and I loved the fact that we were in an oasis of peace and calm within the city. The garden/jungle was lovely, and the breakfast was delicious.

The room was comfortable and clean with good facilities. The staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was very good

The pillows were very lumpy and not comfortable. Probably because of Fiona the area around the hotel was dark and not very nice to walk around at night

Huge and great breakfast, super friendly staff, beautiful and spacious rooms and garden with swimming pool, very close to restaurants and the beach.

Was a bit challenging to find their entrance the first time, but wasn’t really bothering us, thanks for the really great stay!

Very well thought out of rooms, nice vibe, good location and very helpful staff. Our car battery went flat and the lovely French lady assisted us by calling a mechanic who came within 20 minutes and charges us just 6 euro to solve the problem. Place is really lovely too :)

Best hotel in Las terrenas

i was staying in the villa with private pool and it was beautiful from beginning to the end. The whole hotel is wonderful and beautifully taken care of - from the furniture to the plants. the breakfast was super delicious (although there could be some variation after few days) everyone in the staff is amazing and made the stay wonderful. thank you so much - it was one of the most beautiful places I visited

Everything was just perfect! The staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The whole hotel including each and every room was a design-dream come true. The breakfast was outstanding with some varieties you could choose from every day. The beach was a five minute walk, as were restaurants and shops.

The Garden and entire facility is beautiful. The decor is cozy and the staff is very friendly.

Absolutely stunning location. Nice and quiet. Perfect for a getaway as a couple. The breakfast was amazing. It's also well located in las Terrenas on walking distance from the beach. Cool area as well with lots of cool bars and restaurants. For those who love good massages. We recommend booking one here if you have the time. They offer one hour massages for a very affordable price. Booking one as a couple is also possible. The massage was amazing as well.

That we couldn't stay longer. It's absolutely perfect.

The on-site restaurant was very nice, the food was great, and the waitress was amazing. The pool area was very nice. We also loved all of the greenery around the property and it's location.

Although we were accommodated, it would have been nice to have access to regularly available items like and iron and ironing board. It was a little difficult to find the place. Lastly, we purchased the villa and upon arrival, the pull out couch for the loft was missing from the unit.
