The hotel building is by far one of the best well kept buildings in the Colonial side of Santo Domingo city. The staff and amenities are grade A.

Some things are a bit outdated, like the door locks, windows and bathrooms amenities.

The atmosphere was nice, the food also was good, and the personal very kind.

I definitely would come back.

Great location. Great receptionists and bell. Nice size room. Would definitely stay again, but use other facilities than the bar.

The service in the bar was very slow and they kept forgetting our orders. Very hectic. Not enough sunbeds.

Everything is just perfect. Georgeous colonial property locared in the heart of the of city of Santo Domingo. Beautiful comfy rooms. The staff is courteous and forthcoming.

Make sure to get a quiet room not facing the port if you’re a light sleeper.

Could not get hot water for shower. It was warm but not what I'm used too having. But this is minor given everything else.

The hotel is really a gem in the busy city of the Colonial part of Santo Domingo. It extremely beautiful and comfortable.

There was a party one day, around the pool with very very loud music, really not done, and I really hope this was ones only.

Staff are super, hotel has the best original colonial features. Food is great. I always stay here when in the capital, for me it's the best hotel in Dominican Republic.

Nothing to dislike

The only reason I rated breakfast lower was due to the lack of vegan options. Otherwise, everything was great.

The lack of vegan options for food and the shorter bar hours.

WiFi was a bit... unreliable

Very stylish and comfortable specially for those on vacation.

If you are there for work I would advise to choose another place. The rooms are dark. I was lucky as the staff was great and provided additional light but it is not ideal for this purpose.

Beautiful palace-like old building well kept in good shape, but not optimal for modern hotel facilities. Quality service from staff. Very good central location in Zona Colonial. Swimming pool right next to the lobby.

Tight bathroom. Few sockets to charge phones and electronic devices. I found it expensive for the value even though it is a beautiful building. Road working around all the hotel area, though this is surely just a temporary problem.

The property is beautiful and was built in 1502. It is a national landmark and hotel.

The location and history of the hotel, well kept and nice interior design. Front desk staff and door attendants were phenomenal. Food at the restaurant was also surprisingly very good.

A bit pricy but they have a reason to upcharge given the history and location.

The musty smell is uncomfortable, the breakfast is poor and the room was so dark.

The staff was outstanding in assisting with any questions, recommendations or requests. We liked it so much that we re-booked on our way back home going through Santo Domingo.

Position is great to visit the colonial zone. The historic building is amazing and the furniture is lovely. Room was nice and bed was comfortable. Check in and out was quick . Swimming pool very cute.

Service at the pool and restaurant are too slow. AC in the room too strong and impossible to fix it. Noise coming from outside, constant drilling that is not temporary and can be heard easily from the room from early morning until evening.

The staff is very knowledgeable about the structure and history of the place.

The rooms are very small for the price and it looked nothing like the pictures online.

This hotel is a unique stay, as the former home / mansion of the first Spanish governor of the area. The building was expanded and now is run by a Dominican company on behalf of the government, which continues to own the facility. The whole site is very impressive, very historic, with all the charm that that conveys. One of the most unique properties I've ever stayed in and would absolutely stay there again. Walking distance to Parque Colon, nearby museums, shopping, the cathedral, as well as many restaurants, bars, etc. Excellent location.

Really, there was nothing I didn't like about the property or the staff. Everyone was very nice, accommodating, gave great recommendations, even went out of their way to find a taxi to take me to dinner one night when I underestimated the distance to the hotel.

Location is absolute perfect. Breakfast is top local DR food, staff is wonderful, parking is great benefit as you are at the heart of the old city

The Staff and their professionalism. Truly a welcoming attitude and they went above & beyond for my Family. I will most definitely make this boutique Hotel my mainstay in DR.
