The rooms were stylish. The bed was very comfortable. The waiting staff were courteous. The breakfasts were a really good start to the day.

The outside dining table and chairs were extremely uncomfortable, despite accessing cushions ourselves. The management showed absolutely no interest in any personal contact with us, to the extent that they asked if we needed help with our bags 5 hours after we had left the hotel!! It was only on our final afternoon that we discovered that there were two swimming pools that we could access, that we had not been made aware of. The person who checked us in was more concerned about getting our credit card swiped than about telling us anything that the hotel had to offer. The rooms have no phones, so all communication is via WhatsApp. These messages get missed. I wanted to try to get either a steamer or an iron and ironing board, so I was forced to walk through two streets to the reception to arrange it and they still never arrived. No word from the hotel either. The one night that we had dinner with them was very mediocre! $72.00 for some cheese and ham starter to share. Hugely expensive for what it was. Also, the bedroom backs onto a street where the noise is constant from late evening to about 3am. Even the security guard sitting outside the property plays his music without headphones, for anyone to hear.

Room that I booked looks nothing to what I stayed in . The real room was too dark in a depressing way and full of mosquitoes. I realized later that there were more than one room with same as mine but they gave me the worst … totally disappointed

We felt neglected and didn’t have the service you would expect from any hotel. The hotel need to understand that when you pay this money you have to have the service to match. You must be more attentive to guests.

The location was good and the room comfortable.

The arrival was chaotic. There was no guidance that there was no reception. I had to find a security guard to call someone to come to the street corner and then take me to a room. This took about 15 minutes of waiting while we stood under a tree in the rain. That evening, the music and singing was so loud not only could we not hear the television, it kept us awake until after midnight. Even after submitting our breakfast request the night before, it was late and came at different times so that we could barely eat at the same time. I was told the kitchen was too busy.

Had ample security on premises, room was as advertised and had ample space, the concierge team was very helpful. The lounge area for our section was nice to entertain our family that visited.

I thought I purchased a room with its own pool and courtyard but we ended up sharing the space with other guests. It wasn't clear who the actual guests were because each day it was a new person or couple. The hotel is in the city and the rooms are not connected to the lobby so you had to walk outside and cross the street to get to the lobby if the communication via WhatsApp didn't work efficiently.

The only downside, and it’s not the hotel’s fault, but there was a horrible sewage smell coming off the nearby bay.

all three swimming pools are small, dirty, full of leaves, music, ugly, the concrete is crumbling and not maintained. the deckchairs are covered in dirt, the pillows are all stained, the floor is dirty, the surroundings are not maintained,... the grass around the pool is uncut,... a shame.

The property is beautiful and is in a perfect location to enjoy the Zona Colonial. The staff super friendly and helpful, we enjoyed a lot our stay :) Also, they provide delicious breakfast and welcome drink.

On arrival there was a party next door with EXTREMELY loud music. Fortunately there was a room in another building (it's a larger complex) that was quiet.

They really need to fix the process of parking and arrival by communicating in advance what to expect. we had a rental car but when we arrived we couldn’t get in. We couldn’t find the door! There was nowhere to park and as Americans we are not used to the crazy chaotic driving so we had to just circle around and around the busy little streets. Finally I left the car and was able to locate an entrance (there are several but due to the location they stay locked-you need a guest key to enter) It took a few minutes before someone appeared. Yet when they did they were pleasant and knew who I was. They informed us that their person would park the car and we just needed to leave it on the side of the road while they located him. Well, the random side of this little teeny road meant there was barely a foot between the car and all the other cars driving by and it seemed crazy to do! In the US- no way. But tourists are prized entities down there and police will not do anything to upset a tourist. Police are everywhere to make tourists feel safe and happy. so they wouldn’t get upset at you for leaving a car on a corner- it all worked out!

Location was good, right in the colonial zone

I was very surprised that the room was very noisy during the night and there was a constant noise in the background. I'm a light sleeper and I really struggled to fall asleep. When I made the booking the pictures online suggested there was a swimming pool but it was not the case in the one I stayed. Lastly, I have been charged twice and it has been 10 days since they took the money. After several communications I still haven't been able to get a refund. £300 is not cheap, especially if they charge twice!

Per perfect location in the old colonial section of town. Lovely, tiled, hot tub and comfortable chairs in a lovely courtyard.

They informed us on arrival that they could not provide a room, alleging maintenance problems . They forced us to accept a room in another hotel not comprable in quality . The next day an employee told us the truth that it was not because of maintenance but because they gave our room to a wedding party group .

We had an amazing time! The hotel is stunning and very good located. Very beautiful! The staff was very nice and the food delicious.

- the day before our arrival, the property got in touch by whatsapp asking the security code of the credit card we used to secure the booking (through booking.com!!) - after refusing to communicate the security code (asked by an unknown mobile number!!) through a link sent by whatsapp, the property replied that - if no security code was communicated - the booking is not secured (although confirmed by booking.com) - after arrival we raised the issue with the manager on duty but did not get a satisfying answer - we realized that we were finally charged CHF 315 (instead of the CHF 285 confirmed through booking). we hope we will get the CHF 30 back!

An oasis in an otherwise eclectic and hectic city. Beautiful design. Unique character. Great recommendations and support from staff for restaurant selection and reservations, which made our stay even more special and enjoyable. Great breakfast and delightful way of having it served next to the pool in the private indoor garden.

Tried to reach the accommodation a few days in advance. Tried to reach by phone, e-mail and by the booking chat. Unfortunately, I did not get an answer. Even Booking could not get a hold of them.

A very nice, elegant and comfortable room. The staff were very nice and helpful. The location is excellent for the colonial zone.

I had to have my dinner in part of the hotel on the other side of the street because there was no space inside the area where I was staying. I had my dinner in what was a big kitchen, so staff were going in and out. The staff tried their best, but the arrangement was not acceptable for a hotel that is regarded as “high end boutique “ . I was also surprised they had no mosquito spray available.

Photos show a pool, but our location had no pool. The listing is pretty misleading. This isn't a hotel but more like multiple properties at different locations in Santo Domingo. It wasn't very pleasant to realize that upon arrival. The houses themselves have a lot of charm, but the rooms have no windows.

Our stay was nothing short of amazing. For seven nights, I was privileged to stay at this property. The architecture and design are unreal. I have a high standard for cleanliness and they certainly exceeded my expectations. The location was central to everything that we needed, restaurants and sites. We parked our car in their private parking area and never had to fight for space. These are all wonderful, but I will have to say that the people who work there are what make this place special. From the moment you walk into their doors, all of the front desk professionals go above and beyond to ensure you have a good stay. Our concierge, Jeuri was the true highlight of our trip. He was patient with us, attentive and was just a calming and peaceful presence. We left feeling so blessed to have met such incredible people. I hope the owners know this and appreciate what they have in those that make this hotel a success.

it was a beautiful property, well thought through design with a super comfy bed. gorgeous courtyard to sit outside, pool was peaceful and located on a pretty street. Jerry the butler spoke perfect English and always greeted us with a smile. very lovely place to stay!

I love the decor, the intimacy of the place, the butler service, the tub in the bathroom, the impeccable cleanliness and the large choice of breakfast. the personnel was very polite and available as well.

There were very disrespectful and noisy guests that ruined my night and partied until late, not responding to any requests to be quiet. The staff tried to intervene and was very thoughtful with me and changed me room. But the whole thing took hours and ruined my time there. I am thankful for the assistance that I received but regret that there was no stricter intervention from management on the guests. Visitors need to be aware that the houses are in different sites and share the yard closely with 2-3 rooms at the same time, which means there is a lot of proximity. Perhaps the hotel should have spaced guests knowing there was space available elsewhere. For this, I will only put a 9/10 but really everything was great (this aside).

Miss leading description "Hotel" it was a room with butler service. I expect a Hotel to have a bar and dining room on property. The web site is misleading in that the rooms offered are at one of 6 different locations/ addresses.

Large, well-decorated rooms with high ceilings, amazing breakfast, great service overall. Perfect location in the centre of ciaudad colonial. Unexpectedly, this turned out to be our favorite hotel from our DR trip.

Staff had a bit of trouble finding our booking upon arrival, but this was a minor inconvenience really.

We didn’t realize it was a hotel made of different houses. Ours did not have a pool so we didn’t quite get what we saw in the photos.

Luis was very kind and accomodating, food was fantastic, and the hotel is ideally located within the heart of the colonial area.

Amazing location. Amazing interior décor. Amazing staff. Plunge pool and sun beds were a big bonus after a day of sightseeing in the heat. Very comfortable beds. Fantastic food for dinner.

Little privacy. I imagine the guests would be on top of each other if hotel would have been fully booked. Entrance door was slammed every 5 minutes in the morning and we could not sleep as much as we would have wished.

Everything was perfect: atmosphere, room, hotel design, people. An impressive colonian house beautifully renovated offers true relaxation, people are very warm, welcoming and do a nice job to make guests feel comfortable. I had a really beautiful room and trully enjoyed my stay. Thank you very much!
