Staff were amazing and the location is great

In the rooms you can tell that the renovations were rushed but still looks good

Check in was pretty easy. There’s a parking a garage directly across the street. Shuttle service was great. Distance to ford field was great. About a 10 minute walk.

Charging for bottles of water in the refrigerator. I wish they had cups next to the ice machine. No complimentary breakfast.

The bathtub was very dangerous for our age . (72 and 75 ) It slopes in the back .

I enjoyed everything, the valet was friendly and the staff were very professional. Looking forward to staying again.

The staff were friendly and accommodating. Felt like a hotel should be; valet, door man, room service. Location is in a convenient spot to attend tigers games or visit greektown.

Cool hotel convenient to a lot of things in downtown. The suites are quite large which my family all loved and my 8yo was ecstatic about his "own room"" as he slept on the couch in the separate living room. Convenient to Comerica Park - and Ford Field - were able to walk a few blocks to the Tigers game. Overall a differentiated good value from a normal hotel stay.

A lot of construction nearby - which is good for Detroit but did make for some unsafe walking situations.

Spacious and elegant suite, exceptionally clean, with attentive staff and a peaceful atmosphere — perfect after a long journey. Location is ideal for downtown access.

The breakfast was excellent!! The location was in a prime spot for the baseball game. The staff was super personable and very friendly!

Just some minor details…the bathrooms should have exhaust fans because the shower steams up the joint. And a microwave in the rooms would be a huge plus!!

It was truly beautiful. The staff was awesome, the room was incredible. Honestly, it was almost the best part of the trip. Fantastic location even though the view from our window was just okay. Overall amazing, I'd love to come back.

I was pretty happy with it. Getting dropped off was a little tight since there were a few cars waiting for valet but it wasn't that big of a deal.

Absolutely beautiful building and room! I really appreciated how clean the room was and how high end the hotel felt.

The 1:30 a.m. false fire alarm wasn't the greatest experience. All of the guests funneled outside and we couldn't find any employees and weren't sure what to do. We eventually walked around the building back to the main door and walked in and the hotel security informed us it was safe and just a false alarm.

Great location.with some updates would make perfect.loved the room design.would b better w out the glass block in tub so would b open somehow.but total 80s vibe.i grew up 80s so I liked it.but could use some updates.

Needs some maintenance to b at that price point.liked the weird floor plan of rooms but planters coming down elevater were leaking water and resulted in stains.paint flaking.vanity cracked.

This is my second stay and I absolutely love it! the location is great the parking option is amazing it's right across the street and it's close to everything downtown. And the most important part is that it is clean and well-kept kept which is very very important to us.

The only thing I would say is that room service ends at 6:00 p.m. if you're going to an event downtown and want to bite to eat it would be nice to have an option to have room service upon returning to your room.

All of the employees were are friendly and helpful!

Hallways a bit noisy

The room was clean. The staff was very respectful, friendly, and responsive. The design of the room was very unique and pleasant.

There is a soft spot in the floor in the living room ares. There is no microwave available in the room. The day we left, we saw a small bug on the bed.

The $100 per night temporary hold on my bank card for incidentals. Water was five dollars per bottle in the room.

The property was nice. It was in a nice location.

access to get to the restaurant next-door was an issue especially for someone that is in a wheelchair or on a walker. There was no place to warm up food in the room or on the property. And there was no pool even although that is not a dealbreaker it would’ve been nice to be able to relax in a pool or sauna or spa. There was no small store or vending machines for snacks.. Had to walk to 711.

The property was very clean and was appealing at first sight. The room was well maintained, which made it comfortable to stay in. We truly enjoyed our stay at The Atheneum!

That breakfast wasn’t included in any of the package deals for suites. Hopefully, in the future, that will become a trend that will attract more consumers.

Perfect location

The hotel is a great location! We came down for a Tigers game and its just a few blocks walk. Right next to Greektown, lot of restaurant/bars within walking distance. Room was large, plenty of space! Huge bathroom! We were 8th floor so nice view. The staff was very professional and helpful. We definitely enjoyed our stay!
