Acme Hotel Company, Chicago

I really like the whole concept of the place. The room was nice for 1 person and it has all the basic things i needed. The location was so close to Magnificent Mile and downtown for riverwalk and very well connected with transportations - bus and train. Overall, i did choose well and wouldnt mind visiting Acme again. Oh they're also able to store your luggage and has a washing facility!

I had the opportunity to a room with a view on the 5th floor. 2 nights (weekend), they were so noisy at night. All the street noise came in and disturbed my sleep. I guess thats the price to pay to live in a city; but i think its worth to do upgrades on a better noise insulated window panes. Then the overall experience can be elevated. There's no complimentary water bottles. There's a water dispenser at lower ground (where the gym's at) for you to refill though. No inside slippers.

Bed was full and would've preferred a queen at minimum. Climate control blasted directly on bed making it extreme when sleeping. Not much bad to say. It was comfortable.

Location, location, location! This hotel is in a great spot without all the cost but most of the frills. The cocktail bar is wonderful and having a bakery in the building is a plus. The atmosphere is fun too. Don’t miss this place (A maybe so so it’ll be available for those of us already in the know).

The facilities need to be touched up. Dinged paint and corners but clean!

The location is very good, the staff is nice, the value for the payment is fair. The choice of tv channels and having the bakery just downstairs is great.

The floor of the room was not well sweeped when i arrived and there was a smell of humidity and old cigarettes. The room was smaller than what the pictures showed.

Room 307 was quite noisy since some kind of motor (probably a big AC motor) was always running. They bill an extra 100$ that are returned in around two days after the check out

One elevator was down. It was not super life changing, but it was a little aggravating waiting on one. It only fits about 5 people at a time. The city view is more of a street view.

This location is pretty stellar! Love that it's more of a smaller, boutique hotel and the suite that we booked was quite spacious. We didn't mind staying in sometimes (due to the weather) because we enjoyed the amenities in the room.

At the time, one elevator was not working. I'm not sure if it's an old hotel, but one of two working elevators is not ideal when there are 12+ floors and the working elevator is not exactly the speediest. Best elevator music one could ask for though. Also, if you have visibility issues this may not be the best hotel for you- as lovely as the atmosphere/vibe is, the rooms seem quite dimly lit (quite purposefully).

The mirror in the bathroom was so cute. It has a very nice bakery/Cafe in the hotel. It's very close to a lot of the places we wanted to go to.

I asked for a high floor room and was placed on the fourth floor with windows that faced into a parking garage and a dark "garden" area. Was told that I would need to pay an extra $40 per night for another room that was only 1 floor up.

Location was super good. Everything was around the area. We had very nice jazz clubs 5-10min walk, many restaurants and shopping options. The room was spacious and with nice view.

Our room card got deactivated couple of times and we had to change it in reception. That was first time I experienced something like that and to be honest not the best going to your room in 10+ floor after a long day out and had to come down to reception and up again. Another thing, we requested no service in room for one day; however, when we came back we found new pillows inside. Someone entered despite our note.

A really funky hotel in a fantastic position, just two blocks from Michigan Ave and just a few blocks away from the Chicago river walk. Staff were helpful and wifi was strong.

The room was a bit small but it is a city centre hotel. There was no Restaurant or breakfast other than at a small bakery attached. The interior was modern but there were no USB chargers. Still liked the hotel though.

VERY comfortable bed! Great seating area in the room. Good rain-style shower head with good water pressure. The elevators were generally quick despite us staying on the 15th floor. The Berkshire Room bar is delightful and the bartenders there are great.

No cleaning during a multiple-night stay unless specifically requested. Shower head drained randomly after being shut off and took some getting used to as it sounded like it had turned back on by itself. Walls and doors are pretty thin, so it's easy to hear other guest noise.

The photos online don't make the hotel look as nice as it is. The music theme is carried through out the hotel, with album covers in the elevator and a variety of music playing. Our room on the 13th floor didn't have a spectacular view - we looked into a car park and up at office building - but the room made up for it. We appreciated the seating area, large bed, and the nice shower. The area was also extremely walkable to the boat tour we took and the navy pier.

No free coffee in the morning, but the coffee shop in the building is pretty good!

Fantastic location right in the heart of downtown Chicago and only a small walk from several locations with plenty of bars and restaurants around. There is a bakery on location for breakfast in the morning which does great baked products and coffee. Staff were helpful and answered any questions that I had. The room was nice and clean with everything available. The bed was very comfortable.

Sounds travel quite a bit from the corridors outside the rooms, not sure whether walls are thin or acoustics make them travel. However, there is a policy of quiet which does try to mitigate a lot of this.

Fun quirky boutique hotel. Nice coffee shop and bar downstairs. Great location. We could walk everywhere (even with a 4yr old and 6 yr old) - we walked to the river cruise, to Magnificent Mile, Navy Pier, Millenium Park etc. Large rooms - we booked a double queen room with living area. It was perfect, as we could put the kids to sleep and sit in the living room watching tv. We really liked the unique view from window in our room into the back alley where there was an art installation. Our other window looked out onto the main street and had a nice view.

We were missing the hairdryer in our room. Upon asking twice we did receive one. Whilst there was a microwave and sink in the room no cutlery or crockery were supplied apart from water glasses. Cutlery and plates would be useful to eat reheated leftovers. I was also disappointed there was no kettle/tea/coffee in the rooms. I like to have a cup of tea or coffee first thing in the morning whilst getting ready. Also no water bottles were supplied.

The room was a little smaller than what I expected but it was good. The staff was nice.

Parking is expensive but I didn’t mind because I was expecting that. The fact you have to pay every time you leave I didn’t like.

Fantastic location, right at the heart of downtown. You can literally cover all major places of interest by walk. Riverwalk is 10 is 10 minutes walking distance. Clean rooms with adequate amenities and absolutely value for money.

The front desk staff could've been a bit more warm.

I’ve stayed at Acme Chicago a few times and I really like this hotel. It’s starting to become a super favorite! I definitely will be back.

A bit tight. Not as clean as it should have been.

The location of the hotel was great and our very late at night check-in worked out just fine, even though they keep the front door locked at night and access is granted after ringing the bell. We fortunately only waited a couple moments before being let in. The elevator to our room was decorated with music albums and the entire vibe of the place (the music, art in the halls and walls, and the chalkboards on doors), was all very unique, but gave me a familiar feeling of nostalgia. Our room was clean, but it was really, really small. But not like we had to spend much time in there - we were on vacation to explore, which is what we did most of the time we were there. Helpful suggestions from the front desk were appreciated, as was the bar within the hotel's building, and the coffee shop next to it.

The smallest room I've ever stayed in is noteworthy, but nothing else really to complain about. The girl at the front desk who checked us out on our departure wasnt' all that friendly, but the guy at check in had enough personality to make up for that. He was really nice! Front desk will hold your bags while you wander after checking out if you are catching a late flight. But perhaps that chore was why our interaction upon leaving wasn't the warmest.

Great property. The only bummer was the view and daylight but the room itself was awesome. The only reason I didn’t give this property a 10 was because I booked the room with the expectation of a fridge and microwave as listed in the detail description for this room. Its why I booked. When I got in the room there was no microwave and I did mention it. But other than that. Great room, good staff. The room was clean and quiet with a great location and price. I really like this place. I will definitely be back.

No view and easy to miss when walking down the street. Also my Uber driver missed it.

Coffee is no longer offered in the morning, and rooms do not have coffee makers. I can’t remember ever staying in a hotel that did not have an in room coffee maker or coffee offered in the morning. Rooms are getting a little run down.
