Hotel Riva Arun, Bangkok

I like that’s it’s close to the popular temples, flower market and had a hot tub in the balcony. The staff was very friendly and the food was good.

The room decor is a bit old dilapidated. I think a paint job with better colors would be good and the view from the balcony is greatly obstructed by the bushes while sitting in the hot tub and chairs. That was disappointing.

Would benefit from a swimming pool, but we knew it didn’t have one when we booked

Location is great, close to historical places of interests, like wat arun, grand royal palace, wat pho, and a couple of great Michelin guide restaurants.

The rooms are very very small. The bathroom and shower seem to be built in a closet space. And the temperature of the shower water is not stable - sometimes too hot that it can burn you and sometimes too cold.

We had great 1 night stay at this hotel, opposite to hotel are 2 Michelin restaurants. Temples are located within walking distance.

Our room had its own rooftop view of Wat Arun from the balcony jacuzzi. Service for front desk staff was amazing and made us feel pampered from the welcome tea to the offer to send us the sunglasses we accidentally left behind when we departed for home. We were also directly across the street from two Michelin recommended rooftop restaurants with fabulous Thai food and cocktails. This hotel was our most expensive while in Thailand, but it made for memorable stay.

Though the service was excellent at the restaurant, the food at breakfast was bland and just ok- other more budget friendly hotels we stayed at had better Asian and western food options. I feel like this could be improved upon. However, we did order cocktails from the restaurant via room service and the service was once again excellent and the cocktails tasty and very nicely presented.

The service & staff were excellent, room was great. excellent location, everything you need to do is around you.

The shower, the floor tiles are totally the wrong type of tiles, really, really slippery, i fell over & bruised my hip. I had a shower first, luckily, I laid two towels in the shower for my wife, so she wouldn't slip.

Lots within walking distance and beautiful view of Wat Arun. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel gives a wonderful welcome drink upon arrival.

A little far from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. You have to take a taxi to get to main tourist places such as Khao San Road however there are lots of temples and restaurants that are walking distance.

The staff at Riva Arun were so kind and friendly! We had a lovely room overlooking the river with a beautiful view of Wat Arun, as requested. We ate at their rooftop dining room for breakfast and dinner, which had breathtaking views of the city and Wat Arun. The location was perfect, within walking distance to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho Temple, our favorite! We were also within walking distance to the pier which takes ferry taxis across to Wat Arun.

We would like to thank very much the 3 guys at the reception who helped us weigh such heavy suitcases, they were very kind and helpful, thank you! I really liked the location- close to the historic centre, metro, 7/11, flower market, restaurants, massage, tuk tuk, and the view of Wat Arun.

The room is small, next time we will take a bigger room and the bed is uncomfortable.

Riva Arun is even better than advertised. The room, the staff and the restaurant all provided a very high standard - at a reasonable price

Limited wardrobe space

Everything! The staff are so considerate, friendly and polite! They welcome me with tea and help me with calling taxi when I struggle with my app for the first 2 days. They are the highlight of this hotel. Plus, I got a river view for the first night!!! OMG one of the most beautiful sunset I have ever seen right to a temple with boats passing by!!! Book the river view room please, it’s not so much more expensive but it’s worth every penny. The location is near to the grand palace, close to the boat to Siamicon shopping center(easier than taking taxi).

If I have to pick, the aircon is a bit louder than I would love but I was not that bothered.

All the staff were exceptional, friendly and helpful.It was central for the reclining buddha temple and travelling on the river. The restaurant was on the 5th floor with a fabulous view of Wat Arun especially in the evening, but it only had a couple of tables both day and night if you only wanted a drink.

Nothing really not to like, but a little confusion with the room allocation, we had booked a superior room which was very very small and had no wardrobe space and a very unusual shower and toilet, however we were moved to another superior room the following day which had much more space. There was nowhere to relax other than the restaurant area which always had the tables set for meals other than a couple of bar stools with a high table.

Super clear, amazing staff, and a great restaurant on the roof to grab a drink some delicious food. You get a view of Wat Arun from the rooftop.

Hotel staff was amazing. They allowed us to take a shower after our check-out because we had a late flight and already had returned the room after a day trip. They assisted us in organizing a day trip to see the floating market and the train market. Staff very helpful and kind.

Room size was smaller than I had imagined. Hardly had space to open two large suitcases on the floor.

We loved everything! we got the premium suite and it has its own terrace with jacuzzi and the absolute best view to the river and the main temple..... the suite and all was a dream! the rooftop bar and restaurant is lovely and also has view to the palace. Location cannot be better! honestly one of the best rooms we've stayed in.

The staff were incredibly helpful and kind and went out of their way to help accommodate us, especially notable as we ended up changing plans partway through our stay and needed to book additional rooms to split up our party/move rooms around last minute. They were extremely attentive and showed us how warm and hospitable Thailand can be!

While this didn't bother me, the showers do tend to have shifting water temperature without the dials being touched.

Loved the fact that it was so close to the river, with stunning views of ancient temples. But if you want to go to Central World or Siam Paragon, it’s 20 minutes by taxi or TukTuk. Breakfast is excellent and cooked to order, so none of the usual cold eggs rubbish that’s so common with many buffet breakfasts. Staff were brilliant. And I have to give a special mention to Pink who was on reception. You couldn’t get anyone more camp, but also so friendly and helpful. Really lovely guy.

My only criticism was the shower was a bit finicky to get the right temperature.

Fantastic location, great neighborhood, on the river so fresher air than center of town; walking distance to palaces, temples and older districts. Lovely young staff, always helpful. Spotless room, comfy beds. Very glad we booked. Lots of nice little coffee shops and restaurants right around the corner, as well as river piers and fascinating old flower/food market. Rooftop restaurant stunning for a cocktail at night.

The location is superb for easily visiting the main historic sites on foot and accessing river transport.

The restaurants in the area book up quickly. You need to make reservations in advance.

The location was perfect for the view of Wat Arun and the goings on of the river. Easy access to The Grand Palace and many temples. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Older area/neighborhood some run down buildings… but also beautiful historical sites…
