Resort Six Senses Uluwatu, Bali

This hotel is a complete disaster

Location is stunning

Completely under maintained and run down. Signs everywhere stating ‘patch up in progress’ No attention to detail from check in, to cocktails to turn down service, to furniture and decor. Facilities like the spa are grim - green mildew and stains and dead plants surround you. Food at Watu was inedible and beyond expensive as was the pool bar service - warm cocktails with a half dead lime - no care, consistency or love in anything. For a world class brand the overall experience was abysmal - the staff are so lovely but zero training and effort made to help them deliver a good experience.

No netflix, bad internet connection around the property. Staff not happy to accommodate a late checkout

Sheets aren’t good quality. Value for money wasn’t really there needs a renovation . Shower was rusted hard to turn off.

Everything was superb. Absolutely delighted. They even prepared a few beautiful extras for the honeymoon couple!

We stayed in the Cliff pool villa. Impeccable style luxury and the best possible customer service I have ever ever received. Augus, Teresa, Tri, Dwi and many more of the staff always helped us with a smile in their face. They sent some one over to take pictures for us for a small photo shoot we planned impromptu. Cliff bar is beautiful, Watu and Roca are all amazing places to eat in. Will definitely go back for more.

Booked the property same day around 4p. Notified the property we would be arriving by 7p. Arrived at 6:44p. Was told room wasn’t ready. I asked why and they said because it was a same day booking. I asked why wouldn’t they use the last 3 hours to prepare the room knowing I’d arrive by 7. They said that wasn’t what they do and I needed to wait another 1-1.5 hours for the room to be ready. Needless to say we then missed our dinner reservations and ended up not going out our 1 night in Uluwatu because we had to wait for our room. Fast forward, we got room service and went to bed around midnight only to be woken up by a rat in the room dragging our leftovers behind the refrigerator. We called front desk, had to wait 30 minutes for someone to arrive. They sent 2 guys to look for the rodent. We said we needed another room clearly. Had to wait an hour before managment came and got us transferred to a room. We immediately fell asleep and woke up to a room that had no towels and wasn’t properly prepared. Woke up at 8am with little sleep and the hotel wasn’t willing to accommodate us on any sort of refund or room discount because it was booked with Bookin.com. Needless to say, booking.com we will be reaching out to your team and I hope you do the right thing. Otherwise we will be forced to charge back a hefty portion of this transaction with our credit card company.

Beautiful grounds and scenery

The location is absolutely stunning, amazing view and spot right on the cliffs! The main pool is really nice, really big and has the incredible view from it.

The property has seen better days and definitely didn't reflect the price charged. Our room was well overdue for a face lift and looked like it hadn't had proper maintenance for 10+ years. Peeling paint, loose tiles, very noisy toilet door with hinge bent, deck needed redoing, things just looked a bit grubby because they were old. Unfortunately I could go on and on. The general areas (restaurant, main pool etc) were ok but our room was quite bad. The villa we stayed at for the first part of our holiday was half the price and much nicer so we really felt like we were being heavily overcharged for the state of the room.

Friendly and very helpful staff. Everyone is lovely but Dedy went above and beyond to accommodate us, he was absolutely fantastic and we're very grateful for his service and help! He made our stay a lot more pleasant. Also the view is amazing and the size of the villa is fantastic.

We've stayed at several high-end hotels, but this resort disappointed us. There are too many things that are not up to the standard of a 5 star hotel and the amount of money charged for the stay: The pool in the villa was leaking and the water was not filtered (Dedy helped us move) The cushions on daybeds in villas (we've seen several) are old, very dirty, ripped or badly patched Sofas dirty and ripped Bedding sheets ripped Taps in the shower peeling off with some rough and sharp bits Dirty bathtub Bad sewage smell in the bathroom Very bad sewage smell around the main pool Dry, dead grass in villa Below average offer for breakfast Some walls around the resort black with mould Paint peeling of the walls Ugly air conditioning units covered with makeshift timber slats (so visible and badly placed) No milk for coffee in the villas No ironing board or iron in the villas Only two restaurants

The serenity of the place is just mesmerising!!!

Amazing view: the most beautiful undisrupted ocean view. Food: Don't even waste time going to any other restaurant than the cliff bar. Nice ice cream parlour. Some of the staff is very nice and attentive. You get to see monkeys!

I do not recommend this hotel. The hotel is in need of large maintenance work and furniture replacement (having been opened in 2018, it is shocking) - e.g. Persistent sewage smell around the pool, faulty room pool, wall paint looking old/damaged, door window damaged, holes on swim cover provided, cheap and damaged loungers, small and old pool towels (didn't cover even half), dying grass patches. Service is inconsistent at best. Food is overpriced vs quality. Horrible wifi.

The staff made our stay so special with little touches, such as a free room upgrade and cake in the room on arrival as we’d booked to stay for our honeymoon to sending ginger tea to the room when they found out I wasn’t feeling well. The hotel and location is beautiful and very well looked after.

Decent cliff pool villa with ocean view. The pop-up ice cream & shuttle car was really good. Please do reserve the spa in advance, the singing bowl relaxation was impressive. At NYE countdown, there was a Kecak fire dancing show which was amazing! All staff were really nice & kind.

There were short of staff for breakfast at rocker restaurant. Most customers didn’t get menu & tableware, even not clean the table. Except the breakfast experience, the NYE feast (dinner) & countdown party was terrific!

Smelled like sewage by main pool. In room water is salty and tub filler was sulphurous. Constant construction noise.

They didn’t give us the room in the same time that we told them before we arrived. The was not clean and the was cigarette under our bed Also the roof was full of spiders nests The water of the pool was soooo cold

Breakfast was delicious. Different set menus everyday. The resort is quite large, and so the buggies were super convenient and quick, despite some of the renovations that were going on. Staff was super friendly and helpful as well.

The hotel was amazing, so nothing we didn't like. I think we should've arranged for activities well in advance, but if the hotel offered to support with external partners, it would've been exceptional. Constance in Seychelles had an office for their external partners.

The only thing I like about this hotel is view

I travel a lot and I always stay in top hotels but this hotel disappointed me big time. The bed makes noise.the room's pool wasnt that clean and the water level was low. The service at restuarant and the food was very average but the price was like top luxury restuarant in europe. I will never come back to this hotel again, maybe I will remove all six senses hotel from my future stay

The breakfast had a good choice and was really nice. The service in Rocka was always great. Staff were awesome. Reception and the ladies welcoming us were very accommodating and understanding. The facilities and spa were awesome. Loved the complementary ice-cream always put a smile on our faces.

The lack of comms to let us know there would be building and maintenance work throughout the stay. Being welcomed by a symphony of jack hammers is not the image / sound of a 5-star resort. Nor does it appeal to peace and quiet. Its more along the lines of hammering your senses until 22:00 in the evenings at times... Leaving a dead cockroach in the room was also not great with having to remind them to service the room was also disappointing.

The staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel was under construction as a whole, and I felt lost. It's too bad that the view from the room I saw in the picture is completely different. I couldn't see the sea.

Very thing go wrong . Fake review  Bad customer service of web sites they will not listen to you or care about your problem with facilities or this camp. 

Location is great, views are also great

Waiting to get a cart to get to the room on check in and for our luggage while checking out. Our room was cleaned once during our stay on the day of arrival, so dirty dishes stayed all days. They promote the app for you to use to make reservations but we made reservations few times and staff didnt see them. My husband wanted to surprise me on my bday with floating breakfast which never arrived. These are all tiny things but when you pay so much for stay you expect great service - and here it didnt happen

I like everything about it the environment, the staff everything was perfect

On top of everything being wonderful, the staff service and quality was truly exceptional. Special mentions to Chef Dedi, Chef Oka and lovely server Esti for taking exceptional care of us at Rocka; manager Tubo for going the extra mile for my wife and I and for gifting the homemade chili ketchup; concierge manager Bayu for always helping us with pretty much everything we needed; chef Ary for his patience and calm during our cooking class; and staff Dekca for always having a smile on his face while driving us around the resort in his buggy. If you ever go to Six Senses Uluwatu, you will be well taken care of by staff who really care and make you feel comfortable and tended to at all times. Bonus if you find the people mentioned above! They will offer the true essence of the Balinese people

Be prepared for the bottled still water having the tiniest slightest salty taste - don't worry, we were assured the water was treated and filtered, and we had no issue with our digestive systems throughout the trip.

Beautiful location, amazing views, lovely large 2 bed villa with pool.

The rooms, in particular the bathrooms, are quite tired. This was an expensive holiday for our family and to find we had to call maintenance to have our blind in our bathroom fixed (cord broken off, it was stuck fully open) so we could have privacy and also the tap fixed so we could have hot water in the shower was not what we expected from a Six Senses hotel. Although the hotel had organised a car to collect us from the airport we still needed to wait an hour at 5pm to access our room. They kindly comp’d our room service for our hungry and very jet lagged small children but we were surprised the room wasn’t ready at that time of day and also by the lack of urgency when we stressed that our kids needed to eat after a very long journey.

unprofessional of hotel & yr booking platform to offer room that was not available. I did not get the room that I booked. The hotel could not fulfil the booking. The room was under repair , in a state of disrepair. The swimming pool was emptied out.

Six senses is a truly magical place. It’s a stunning property on the cliffs of Uluwatu with beautiful private villas and well-designed common spaces like the pool area and the spa. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful especially Komang Mertayasa did an excellent job with getting me settled in and organizing day trips to tue Uluwatu temple. I would def stay at Six senses again!

Djana - was the lead staff at Roka restaurant. He certainly was exceptional with his service and high level of attentiveness. The room and location are splendid The staff is supportive as due to some changes on my end I had to modify the room and booking , and the team was prompt and understanding in getting it done. The staff also gave us the best room on site when we had shared that it was our last day in Bali.

1) spa facilities weren't up to expectations. Music and speaker were no clear and in sync. I think speaker was damaged so the bass was annoying. The SPA rooms are wall guarded with no view or nature experience. 2) communication was a barrier with most of team as English wasn't a language they seemed at ease with. This was frustrating at times when we were asking for certain asks like a late checkout, or baggage drop off. 3) I had requested prior to my arrival that on site activities be shared. Nothing sadly was received, I discovered upon checkout that surfing classes and scuba diving and more are made available... 4) around 4-5 monkeys approached our room. While this is a unique experience , especially that the long tail macaque is now endangered, it was also terryfing as we've never had to deal with a wild animal in such a setting. While nothing happened, we did end up locked in a room for an hour , reading about the species and what to avoid doing. No signs were available in the room or guidance on such a matter . We also called the team which may have showed up but left after realizing the door was locked ( they cld have called us...but anyways)

Nice view from the pool area and large rooms.

The staff is very unorganized and in half of tze cases doesn’t understand English well. Next to the property there is a noisy large construction area. The whole property feels dated and a lot of small things are broken. The infinity pool is not an infinity pool when after the pool the lawn continues for a few meters. You don’t get to see down the cliff.

The staff at this place are great. Especially the managers who went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

For the amount charged the condition of the resort in general is not up to scratch. You can smell the septic system from the common area. This would have been a great hotel when newly built, but the grounds are badly in need of maintenance. There is also ongoing construction next door, which you can’t hear from the villas but ruins the atmosphere on arrival. This place also does weddings and private functions which might interfere with your enjoyment of the luxury retreat. There was also loud karaoke from a private villa several nights of our stay, and kids movies played each evening at the only spot to watch the sunset.
