All you need to know

The Poetry Building in Recoleta is a stunning slice of Argentine history. Built in 1911, this Belle Époque landmark was originally the private mansion of the Peralta Ramos family, one of the country’s most prominent aristocratic dynasties.

When it was restored and converted into boutique serviced apartments, the owners went to incredible lengths to preserve its soul. They hired specialized artisans—the exact team tasked with renovating the city’s legendary Teatro Colón opera house—to meticulously restore the building’s untouched, century-old facade and hand-soldered railings.

Inside, the design blends classic antiquity with modern luxury. While stripping back the old ceilings, designers uncovered beautiful, hidden brick structural arches that are now a central feature of the rooms. The interiors are layered with curated local artwork, crystal chandeliers, and vintage furniture sourced from Buenos Aires’ famous antique markets.

The location is a massive bonus for exploring the city. You are just a brief seven-minute stroll from El Ateneo Grand Splendid, a majestic theater beautifully converted into one of the world’s most spectacular bookstores. The iconic Recoleta Cemetery, where Eva Perón rests, and the grand National Museum of Fine Arts are also just blocks away.
