Berkeley Hotel & Day Spa, Dubrovnik

We spent 4 nights in the old town and decided to spend 1 night outside the walls and chose this place. We loved it. If we ever come back this way we would certainly think about staying here instead. It is only a short free bus ride to Pile gate with the Dubrovnik pass. It has a pool in the warmer weather. Our room had a balcony and a good view of the harbor. The walk to the harbor was only 5 minutes. The rooms were super clean and spacious and for me the breakfast was awesome (they had some of the best breakfast desserts I ever had). Finally, the staff were genuinely happy to welcome me. All this for a reasonable price. Thank you Berkeley Hotel for a wonderful stay.

I've been to 31 countries, this is the best hotel in my life. Especially, the woman at the reception is very kind. The facilities are very clean and comfortable. I would like to stay again. Hvala puno! ARIGATOU!

Extremely comfortable beds, in general really beautiful room with a nice terrace. All the staff from reception to the ladies in the restaurant/bar were very nice and helpful. Definitely a place to stay and very good value for money.

The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the room felt luxurious. It offered great value for money, and the peaceful atmosphere made it easy to get a good night’s sleep. The breakfast was delicious as well. I will definitely be returning!

Breakfast was excellent with a good selection of items although there were no fresh fruits, only bananas, but could be because it’s winter. Location was a 5 minute walk to the port and main bus station. Local bus to the old town was in front of the hotel. The staff was fantastic, very friendly and accommodating.

Excellent location in the port town of Gruž. The airport shuttle bus drops you at the main bus station, which is just a short walk from the hotel. Buses to the Old Town run regularly, and the stop is only a two-minute walk away. The staff are very friendly, and the rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is good, and overall, the hotel offers great value for money. A perfect base for exploring Dubrovnik’s Old Town and the surrounding areas.

The room was spotless and met expectations. Breakfast was excellent. While the hotel was some distance from the old town there was a regular (all be it very crowded) bus service close to the Hotel.

The location was a bit further away from old town than we realised but we managed ok with buses. I didnt realise it was a spa hotel as it doesn't say that in the title on here.

A 15-minute walk from the port and bus terminal was the reason we chose this hotel. All staff were friendly and very welcoming. The coffee at breakfast was fantastic, and the food options were good. The complimentary bottles of wine in the room were a bonus, and I loved the seaview from the balcony. The local bus to Dubrovnik old town is very close, and there are many restaurants close by with great food, as pictured in my attached photo. Loved the walk around the waterfront!

The road where the hotel is located can be busy, and it's tricky to cross it to walk along the only footpath available on the opposite side.

Fantastic service from receptionist who checked us in early, super friendly and helpful. Room was great, large and comfortable with a balcony giving great views of the harbour and sunset

Friendly staff, quiet location

Conveniently located walking distance from our arrival and departure ferries, and local busses, this very well run hotel gave us a secure comfortable space to explore all that Dubrovnik offers. The onsite breakfast included offered a variety of healthy food choices.

Too late in the season to enjoy the unheated pool.

Staff was super kind and helpful. Breakfast was hearty and delicious. Room was clean and comfortable and very conveniently located with respect to the port and to busses that go to old town.

As far as the hotel goes I love everything. For those who prefer to be closer to the old town. It may be a little far to walk. But for those going on a cruise it is perfect. Price is a little high for our liking but to honest we would come back if we take a cruise again. It’s a lovely place to stay. No bar or evening meals though.

Hands-down best staff we have ever encountered in a hotel. Marija was an angel! She immediately helped take care of an issue we had checking in and was overall so helpful and kind. We had no problems safely storing our large bicycle in their parking garage. We loved our room--it was clean, very comfortable, and spacious with everything we needed. We also loved the included breakfast! It really had something for everyone from American food to French food to local dishes (the Greek salad and roasted veggies were my favorite!). The hot dishes were much appreciated. The staff at breakfast were really nice as well. We sadly didn't get to use the pool due to the weather but it looked great as well. The location is conveniently very close to the ferry port (if you are arriving by bicycle). It is a 10 euro Uber to the old city or you can take the local bus (free with Dubrovnik pass). We were so impressed with our stay here and would absolutely come back.

Although this is a simple and basic hotel, the service and hospitality truly exceeded expectations. Every staff member went above and beyond to make us feel welcome – their warm greetings each day made it feel like coming home. Breakfast was a delightful surprise with a wide buffet spread. The highlights for us were the freshly made omelette crepes, waffles, and the fresh salad selections. On top of that, they served the best handmade coffee we had in Dubrovnik – smooth, aromatic, and far better than any machine-pressed coffee. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with a lovely sea view that made mornings and evenings extra special. Overall, this hotel offers so much heart. It may not be luxury, but the genuine warmth, excellent food, and thoughtful details made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended!

My daughter and I had a great experience at this hotel! The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. We especially appreciated how helpful they were in providing detailed bus and ferry information and directions-it made getting around so much easier. Their local knowledge and willingness to assist truly enhanced our stay. Highly recommend this hotel for both the hospitality and the service! In addition, we found the property clean and close to bus and ferry transportation. Our stay included a nice breakfast that we were able to enjoy prior to an early morning ferry booking.

Personally i thik the property is a gem for a family holiday. Great access to shops, fantastic staff and not that far from old town. We also enjoyed the pool and great breakfast. Love how they get fresh coffees for every guest.

Great stay at this little hotel located very close to the Dubrovnik Port. We disembarked our cruise ship and we were able to walk to our hotel. Taxis found us easily, and we enjoyed the convenience of short rides to the Old Town. Breakfast and coffee were good, beds comfy, air conditioning worked well. We left Dubrovnik on an international ferry, hence our choice of location. Super friendly and helpful staff.

The staff at reception ‘Elma’ must go. She is the most unhelpful receptionist you have ever met. We asked for things to do and her answer is google. We asked for how to get to old town. She said to take a bus with bad directions. The AC stopped working for one night. We complained and her answer was that even she did not has ac at her home and we should have opened the balcony - no apologies. We asked for conditioner, first she refused to believe that there was no conditioner, but finally she reluctantly gave it us. With the exception of Elma, all other staff were exceptional.

A bit far away from the main sites and old town - about a 10 minute uber ride. Very close to the ferry port so convenient to get to different islands.

A wonderful hotel right by the Port where we had just finished our cruise. The staff are very lovely, Elma at reception was delightful, she upgraded our room and gave us great tips for restaurants. We could store our luggage and sit by the pool until our room was ready. Breakfast was delicious. The room is modern and large and it suited our needs perfectly. Thank you to the staff.

Great room, comfortable and effective aircon. There’s also a little courtyard you can access from the bedroom. The pool is lovely too. A good breakfast. Handy location for the port but it’s a bit far to walk to the old town.

Location is great for getting to the Croatian Ferry systems. Quiet location not far from the Old Town, convenient via taxi or car. There is a bus but we did not use it. The breakfast service was great, excellent staff and service.

It was a very hot evening and the pool was only open until 8 or 9 pm so it was not available to cool off after a hot night in Old Town.

Our stay at the hotel was wonderful! The staff, in particular, was exceptional – they helped us with everything we needed. We had to leave at 5 a.m., and since we would miss breakfast, they kindly prepared coffee, sandwiches, yogurts, and more for us to take on the road (thank you very much!). Everyone was extremely polite and made us feel very comfortable. The location was good, especially if you enjoy walking a bit. It was a little pricey for our standards, but it was worth it.

One small thing is that it would have been nice if the minibar in the room had been stocked. 🙂 It would also be nice if guests could order food to their room, without having to go outside the hotel.

Room was quiet, dark, comfortable and well equipped. Large shower and good space. Good breakfast. Very friendly and efficient staff.

Swimming pool was very cold after some stormy weather and no shade to sit under by the pool.
