The facilities at the party were great, the music, games to play, etc

There was only one men’s toilet for the entire floor.

I loved that downstairs in the bar area there were a lot of activities every night. As an introvert, I still managed to make some connections and the vibes were definitely there! The beds were very comfortable and the rooms warm, I also loved that there were curtains for some extra privacy.

The only critiques I have is that there is no kitchen, so that makes budgeting a bit harder. Also there were no towels provided, which I am used to at hostels, so you had to rent one for 4 euros extra. Lastly the lights in the bathroom were sensor controlled, but in the showers there was no sensor (or not working) so unless there were other people the lights would turn off every 3 minutes and so you're left in a pitch black shower, which isn't the most pleasant experience. I hope they fix this issue.

The beds were comfortable and felt private even though I was in a 6-bed dorm thanks to the privacy curtains. The lockers were plenty big for my bag and locks were sold at the bar to keep your belongings safe. The rooms and bathrooms seemed decently clean and I saw the cleaners multiple times throughout my stay which was reassuring. The bar was nice and had good drinks and delicious croques/toasted sandwiches. There was a Halloween party the first night I stayed which was fun and the other hostelers I talked to were friendly. Most people were pretty quiet which I liked as an introvert. The reception and bar staff seemed nice enough. There are a lot of good restaurant options around as well and not in a super touristy area.

A bit out of the way but very easy to get to central Paris by Metro. Area is not touristy and felt a bit unsure walking at night as a solo female traveller but that’s par for the course and I wasn’t bothered by anyone. A slight smell of sewage in the bathroom at times but not noticeable elsewhere in the hostel.

This was my second stay at Peoples in Belllvile and I came back because my first stay was also great. It is easy to catch the metro also there is a lot of great food in walking distance. The staff is upbeat, helpful and they create a social atmosphere.

The top bunk is really high with not enough to hold on too. It would also be nice if there was a refrigerator and Microwave available for guest.

The rooms are good, the staff were really nice. There were evenings with live music and it was amazing! Great hostel overall

Nice surroundings in the centre of Paris. the staff is helpful and friendly. As i did not come to Paris for several years it has been a great experience

Breakfast was good (Croissants, coffee, juice, 2 cheeses, baguette and jam). Comfortable beds, super clean and regularly cleaned. Quiet rooms despite bar below. 5 mins to metro "Couronnes", great food in Oberkampf (10 mins) from all nationalities.

Be aware that the bathrooms are not in the room. This was unclear on the Booking.com website. Not a big problem for us as kids are teenagers, but for families with younger kids it could be an organisational challenge.

Really nice hostel with clean facilities and nice bed with curtain, as well as big lockers. The rooftop terrace was amazing with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Also a nice bar/ restaurant at the bottom to sit in. I only stayed one night so I don’t have anything to say about how social or unsocial it was. Really close to metro.

The breakfast! Yum. The beds were comfy. Nice common area to sit in.

Pretty expensive, the doors to the rooms close loudly, a staff member came in to unplug a light on a bed which broke the side of my bed and send all my toiletries down into the dirt, she then got a stick with tape for me to one by one pick them up. Obviously didn’t do it on purpose but it was quite frustrating and she could have communicated what she was doing as I was left to clean up the mess.

The beds were super comfy and had curtains which is a big plus for privacy

The rooms were a bit small so found it hard to access my luggage comfortably

Staff were friendly, I stayed a double room on the rooftop and the view of the city was good. The condition of the room was ok. Also I could meet a lot of other travelers in the bar downstairs

The water pressure from the tap was a bit weak.

Very clean and private, even it is a shared room, you get to hide in you bed, without being disturbed by other guests

My bunk wasnt cleaned before i arrived rather late at night. Almost certainly an innocent, one-off mistake but its basically the only thing i was paying them to do: give me a clean bed to sleep in

The room on the rooftop had a nice view, the staff were super kind, and the breakfast was great. Also, the property is super well-located, really near a metro station.

The bathroom, while very clean, had a strange smell, which was only noticeable if we went inside it.

You have to pay for baggage storage even if you arrive early which seems a bit strange Not sure if it depends on the room but some of the lockers under the bed are difficult to get a lock onto it (better to have a small lock and key vs a master lock)

The hostel is scrupulously clean, well-equipped and staffed by cheerful, helpful and very kind people. The wheelchair-accessible room we were provided was a decent size, with enough room to park the wheelchair and still move around and also get into the bathroom fairly easily. The brunches on-site are delicious and highly recommended. The staff were extremely kind with my young daughter, who was accompanying me and other guests were equally friendly and kind. The fact there is a lift to all floors meant the accommodation was also wheelchair-accessible throughout, with flat access via the rear door from the outdoor terrace area. The "vibe" of The People is fantastic and I would highly recommend this as a cost-effective, safe, clean and accommodating place to stay in Paris. It has good transport connections via bus (and Metro, though we did not use this) and so is easy to get to from the main transport hubs, and not too long by bus into central Paris.

The only improvements would be specifically from the perspective of a wheelchair user. The shower area was too small and poorly designed for a disabled user. The risk of water flooding out of the shower was high and this causes safety concerns. There was no emergency pull cord anywhere in the bathroom or room. The portable shower stool provided was fine for me, but would not be suitable for many disabled people. The People should consider redesigning the wheelchair-accessible bathroom as a proper wet room with level access and a larger shower area, and installing emergency pull cords in the bedroom and bathroom areas.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Room 501 has a balcony which is a bonus. If you're staying for a long time and need to hand wash a few things, you could bring one of those compact air-dryer hangers with pegs on to use on the balcony. I think bed C is the best - even though it is a top bunk, it has plenty of head room. The lower bunks (B & F) have the disadvantage of having the lockers underneath them, which can cause your sleep to be disturbed when people are rummaging about in their lockers late at night. The ladies' bathroom on the 5th floor was cleaned regularly throughout the day. I really liked Belleville - although down-at-heel, it is quite central, well connected on public transport, very cosmopolitan, and there are great, reasonably priced restaurants - Korean, Vietnamese, Caribbean, African, Tunisian, Algerian, Kurdish, Jewish. I got back to the hostel around midnight a few times and felt safe as the streets were still busy. Ménilmontant, a stone's throw away, has a great vibe in the evenings.

I didn't like Bed B, the lower bunk bed on top of the lockers. Some guests would return about 1-2 am and use their lockers beneath me, which would disrupt my sleep. There was an unpleasant smell of drains at times in the bathroom, but I think that was due to the plumbing in an old renovated building rather than due to a lack of cleaning. The grouting in the shower cubicles could benefit from a machine/electric scrubbing tool, rather than manual scrubbing, which I saw the cleaning ladies doing. The showers have been set to reduce the water flow, to save water I guess, so don't expect a power shower.

really liked the 8 bedroom dorms. they had a lot of space and the environment felt safe and comforting. they also lock the place after a certain timing which adds to the safety since i worked remotely at the lobby at odd hours

they need a kitchen!!!!! badly!!!!! or at least a microwave and simple utilities 😭😭😭 but a kitchen please

The People Paris Belleville is a fun hostel. I really like that there is a good mix of travelers from young people to seniors so it’s pretty inclusive in this way. I also liked the staff. Monday night Karaoke is fun and the space is great for working and relaxing. The location is good and offers a very different experience of Paris life though some travelers will be dissatisfied with the location. The staff is wonderful. There is a great rooftop to view the sunset only accessible to hostel guests. They are very nice and helpful.

The design of the bunk beds in the mixed dorms is not very ideal, in particular the very tall top beds. The ladder is not safe with no grips and handles along the ladder. I slipped off the ladder and hurt my shoulder and wrists as I was trying to pull myself into the bed. I didn’t like how there wasn’t a communal kitchen sink or refrigerator.

The people were nice, and the room was good. It was clean. There was good wifi and enough space to lock a cabin bag and another bag in it.

You had to pay for the towels, and if you wanted to leave your luggage for some hours before your flight. The aircondition didn't work in the room

Good hostel, decent facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Absolutely gorgeous rooftop with sunset views of Mont Martre.

No shampoo or anything in the showers. Only 1 bathroom and 2 showers per floor.

The 24 hour desk and staff were great. Very clean and close to three metro stations.

Breakfast was not worth the money. One male toilet on a floor with 6 rooms and it was out of order so had to go down 6 flights of stairs to use the toilet.

Staff were super gentle, the customer experience in general was very good, the bathrooms were cleaned frequently had nice showers and the air conditioning was crucial because it was so hot in Paris. They had a fair XL breakfast that included bread, coffee, juice, yogurt, cheese and pastries. Very nice vibe on the hostel. It is very close to 2 metros lines and in a walking distance of 1 more.

I think the bedroom for 6 people was a little too small, but they had space for us to organize all our stuff. There is no guest kitchen in the hostel. Price was a little salty due to the olympics.

Beautiful hostel! I got a private room, worth every penny for the privacy. It was clean and comfortable.

I'm currently in London and have stayed at a hostel there, but this hostel is the best compared to that one. The beds are not small and the bedding is clean and fluffy. The bathroom and toilet are properly separated for men and women. The storage space is large, and although you have to bring your own key, you can buy one nearby for about €2 if you don't have one. I'm going back to Paris after going to Germany, so I've booked another night! The quality is amazing for this price.

I really liked the area/district/environment the Hostel is in, I really liked that the rooms are actually really soundproof on one hand regarding street noise and on the other hand regarding noise from the bar in the evening. The rooftop Terrasse is a great feature!! The service was super good. :) I think it's def. worth it, just for me it is still expensive, but I think that's just because I'm cheap 😂

The room was really small but actually well designed to even fit 8 beds & lockers in there! Quite impressive tbh. I just think if it was fully booked it would have been packed!! Lucky for me it wasn't. :)

Really friendly staff, the showers and toilets were pristine and cleaned really regularly. The beds were comfortable and they had great live music on in the evening. The hostel is easy to find and near lots of great restaurants. Great base to explore Belleville and Canal St Martin from.

The rooms were quite warm and didn’t seem to have air conditioning, so we had to make do with the windows being open which was a bit loud, but nothing too off putting and everything else was great!

The rooms and bathrooms were clean. The location was good as well, close to a metro station. We had a great time!

It would have been nice to have a full-body mirror.

Felt a bit cramped One bathroom on each floor for each gender, with one toilet and 2 showers. Definitely not enough. Also, bathrooms got very hot and stuffy with no circulation -- please install vents. No organised events, though they had a lively cafe/bar on the ground floor and a rooftop terrace I didn't get to see 8 bed dorm still felt cramped and needed more floor space to open up luggage

It just cost 5 Euros to eat breakfast (crossiant and coffee), which is better than the UK (foods in the UK is expensive and awful)

The environment around the hotel is not very safe and secure. I was extremely worried about it when I arrived at the first day.

My stay was very pleasant. I am especially happy with the night shift staff - Santiago and Christian were very kind and easy-going. I was pleased with the rooms and the facilities. I also appreciated the food options and the activities that the hostel provided.

I would have given a top review if they could help me with a wake-up call. My phone was stolen in the metro tunnels, and the staff unfortunately wouldn't assist me with a wake-up call because of the shared room. It was quite important, since it was for my trip home and I needed to wake up in good time to get to the airport. Luckily, I had bought a digital clock on my trip, and even more lucky - it had an alarm function. So everything turned out fine.

The location of the hostel is far from comfortable - lots of homeless/shady people, when I stayed there somebody got robbed in a hostel from the outsider person (the receptionst acted very promptly and professional tho!) - not a lot of grocery options nearby - the breakfast is quite pricy for the value, would be nice to have some savoury selection apart from 2 cheeses - on my Floor with multiple girl beds only 1 shower was funcioning (no repair for 4 days at least) - obligatory aircondition in the dorm made the sleep uncomfortable (no possibility to turn it off/regulate the temperature and it was cold outside) -
