We had a great stay here

I only wanted to stay here because it features in my favourite video game series (yes seriously) but I couldn’t have been happier with it. Great central location. Very nice room and services and the staff I intersected with were lovely.

The old shower head was a bit low for me. But that’s me scraping the barrel to think of a negative. Was all great.

Bed comfortable, room spacious & quiet. Room had musty smell to it though. Nice amenities( coffee & tea); electric kettle; mini fridge

Smell in room; walk in shower. More pastries in lobby in morning. It wold be nice if free breakfast offered for the price

The location was walkable to lots of dining and shopping!

I am used to a little more powerful air conditioning.

We thought the staff were all pretty friendly and our room was amazing! Nice patio area outside! It was super close/ easy to get to the hotel from the freeway, so that was nice!

In Europe this hotel would be 3 stars.

A lovely historic hotel with boutique rooms, larger than pictured actually. Great location and plenty of street parking around the blocks. I wouldn’t worry about parking too much

History

No air conditioning

The room was incredibly spacious - much larger than I expected! Also, I LOVE when hotels separate the shower/toilet from the sink so that my partner can use the bathroom/shower in peace while I wash up/do my makeup. There is a beautiful outdoor patio area - we had brunch there, and the food/service was great. The hotel itself is a beautiful historic building with lots of character. Great location - we walked and used the plentiful Lime scooters to get around everywhere. Only needed to use Uber to get to/from King Street Station with our luggage.

The room description said it was a queen bed, but I could have sworn it was a double - it felt on the small side, but I am probably wrong. Regardless, for the price we paid, a King Bed would have made our sleep significantly better. We were there during a heatwave and while the AC (in living area) was functioning, the bedroom area didn't get a ton of air flow, so it was rather hot.

The property is historic and charming. We were upgraded to a suite at no extra cost. The close proximity to the hospital meant loud sirens all night.

The cost of parking and the noise.

Beautiful old hotel with loads of character. Felt clean and modern inside despite its age. Family room was great for three of us. Staff were friendly and engaging.

We had a 20 year old as part of our group and she wasn't allowed into two of the three social spaces in the hotel due to US licensing laws. Left us with the restaurant as the only space to relax in despite the beautiful foyer surroundings.

Unique and interesting, not your typical hotel.

My room was absolutely AMAZING. The entire hotel was absolutely beautiful and historic but cozy and comfortable. The bed was THE BEST!!! SOFTEST, FLUFFIEST BED EVER!!!

Honestly, there was nothing I did not like and I truly wish I could've spent longer at the hotel. I do with the kitchen had been open a bit later the day I arrived. I misread the hours and missed being able to grab some dinner that night. But I did get a great drink at the bar!

This beautiful old world hotel is an oasis of charm in a harsh world. The rooms are big, very clean with comfortable beds and a great reading chair. The outside dining area is like an Italian Cafe.

There was chemical smell in the room. Elevator was out of service, and our room was on the 5th floor

Staff was so friendly and helpful.

The ambience was excellent, as were all the staff we interacted with. We really liked the architectural detail, and the flowers everywhere. It was too cool to dine outside but we enjoyed sitting there for a while anyway.

The Hotel Sorrento was so beautiful & quaint! I loved the decor of the Stella Restaurant and the Fireside; so old fashion 😊

I loved the vintage feel of the hotel and the staff were WONDERFUL. Even the cleaning ladies added to the vibe with how sweet they were. I also appreciated the hotel holding onto our bags after we checked out while we went to a mariners game.

What I didn’t like was the smell. I could smell a heavy cologne everywhere except my room. It seemed like the smell was there on purpose but it made me feel a little dizzy and gave me a headache. If the smell is on purpose I would recommend picking something else and make sure you’re using a natural essential oil because fake perfumes and colognes are really bad for our health.

The staff were amazing and the property had so much character. I actually felt quite spoiled for the price!

Bad paint jobs (fix-ups)

Every morning there was coffee and freshly baked pastries in the lobby. The pastries were delicious.

The staff was super friendly. We got in from our cruise very early and had a very late night flight out the next day. They help our luggage without issue and were very accommodating. The room was beautiful and hotel was rich with history. If you don't mind the incline, the hotel was about a mile to the waterfront with bodes tons of shopping and restaurants, but just know you have go back up the hills on the way back.

The bed was a little soft and low for my taste but otherwise nothing.

Property was beautiful, historic, close to hospital where my husband had open heart surgery. Staff all friendly and ready to assist me.

This is a beautiful, old world style hotel with a lot of warmth and wood detail. The lobby bar with fireplace was perfect. The staff was helpful and professional. My room, which was a suite, was large, light, and comfortable.

Like most hotels since COVID, this one is starting to look a little down in the mouth. Nothing drastic, just some things need painting or fix-up. The restaurant was good, but the menu could have been just a bit more expansive.

Preferred if breakfast was available at 6:30AM

Decent-sized room, comfortable bed, good bathroom. Staff was exceptionally knowledgeable and courteous. Was able to use hotel's equipment to print out boarding pass. Reasonable room rate for prime location.

Inadequately-functioning, stand-alone heating unit. Set thermostat at 75°, but unit blew cool air. Was a bit chilly under the circumstances (55-60°?), but too late (at bedtime) to be worth making an issue.

Historic hotel thoughtfully renovated and decorated. Mattress great. Bathroom marble with long soaking tub. Food in hotel restaurant excellent. Loved the wood-paneled lounge with fireplace and live music. The service was very attentive.

The TV was an old model that we could not plug our Roku into.

I liked everything about this hotel. The facility is an old, stately hotel. The staff was amazing. The location was perfect for my needs.

The first two nights, I was in a room that faced out on construction work on the front of the hotel. Mmy room window faced, and was covered by scaffolding and shade netting! 😮 My price for the room was not decreased because of this, nor was I warned about it when making a reservation. I was very disappointed. I had to extend my reservation another day as my husband was being kept another day in the hospital. The third night there I was put in another room, on the same floor. What a difference! If only I had had a choice with the first reservation. 😞

Loved the history and attention to detail of the hotel. Our room was nice and the location to the bakery was fabulous! Easy to drive to the Pike’s Market area and play around. HATE the ridiculous prices for parking in Seattle - way out of hand and will be a factor in the future. The fireplace in the former Hunt Club area and woods were part of the reasons I wanted to stay at the hotel. Absolutely worth seeing all of the area inside.

The noise level from outside was not good - it took a while to relax with all the sirens and people arguing on the walkways. Wishing there had been a way to stay outdoors a bit more - sad the “garden area” was not being utilized.

If your into paranormal this is a great place 4th or 5th floors

I’m not a breakfast person, but I loved how I could Pop over to see my husband at the hospital. Go for a walk, stop at the grocery store down the street or even Starbucks. Most of all how safe I felt in my room.

Our hot water in bathroom was a trickle at full volume. We thought that’s just the way it must be since the room had to be cleaned before we stayed in it. Surely housekeeping would have said something. After 2 days I said something to front desk and it was fixed. That was my only complaint.

it’s a lovely hotel where we stayed after our wedding in 1989.

the restaurant was very average at best. parking for the night was outrageous. city construction made accessing the hotel about impossible, and we are locals.

Need to upgrade curtains to be able to open/close and be the blackout type for light and sound especially. Also provide mini fridges in thr rooms.

We love the homey and historic feeling of Hotel Sorrento. The beds are quite comfortable and the room is very clean.

We wish there was free parking for guests.
